Those that got the job...

Are you not allowed to open the box with the iMac or contents until the first day of training?

Anyone know of places for I-9 verification places?

I don't have an Apple, Bank of America, or Credit Union near my location...

Any bank may provide the service. Mine was staffed by morons so they didn't. Luckily, I have a notary in the family so I just went with them. Note that the i9 does not need to be notarized. It just needs to be filled out and verified by someone who is not you. They want you to use a notary if you cannot make it to an Apple Store because, well, it's a notary's job for the most part to verify accuracy of things so who better to serve as Apple's authorized representative? Technically speaking, you i9 can be filled out by anyone as long as it's not you.

Try looking in your local yellow pages for notary services and speaking to some, though.

No. You're not. You do it on your first day so you're paid for it.

EVERY law office/real estate office has a notary.

A piece of advice for those who are looking to get your I-9 notarized: Do NOT have a family member notarize/sign something for you. Bad idea, and technically, it's not allowed. Go with someone unrelated to you. It can be ANY notary public.

I first applied on 5/16 directly with Apple and haven't caught anyone's attention yet. Some people get a call to schedule an interview the same day or day after they apply others a couple weeks, some have taken months. So YMMV.

Consensus is to apply at areas within your same time zone. Distance is irrelevant otherwise.

You can check your profile for updates. From my understanding, Apple will only call you twice to schedule an interview.

You may want to peruse the thread as there is a wealth of information and everyone on here is really helpful.

Good Luck to the both of us ! :apple: :apple: :apple:

So it could take awhile? I applied around 5/26. so it doesnt really matter location just time zone? and what thread should I follow?

This is true. Check with your state to see what its stance on this is. The general rule of thumb is that if the notary stands to benefit from the "transaction" then they are disqualified from notarizing it. (Not that your i9 has to be notarized to begin with but some notaries are oftentimes unnecessarily finicky if you live in a place with heavy regulations.)

I was lucky enough to have in my ~family a life-long family friend who is a notary because of their profession and they do not benefit in any way from them verifying my IDs to fill out my i9.

I assume it would be best to submit a .pdf version of your resume, correct?

Also I have a couple questions regarding HireRight.
1. Work history - do they ask info for previous "x" amount of years or previous "x" amount of jobs?

2. How many years address history do they need?

I already searched Mr. Mac's info on pg. 235 and didn't see a definitive answer to these. Thanks in advance for your help :)

From my understanding, Apple used to have a 100 mile distance requirement of location posted. That has been lifted. I am taking for granted, that as long as you are in the same time zone as the location posted, (for scheduling purposes I presume), you are good to go.

I have seen people on here that it's taken since January and I have seen overnighters.

This thread. Bounce around the 300 + pages for info, or just ask. But it's all already here, really. God's Speed! ... I walk around daily thinking about the opportunity and apply to a different location weekly...

Hey everyone I am new to this thread but couple questions,
I applied may 26 got a call by recruiter may 28th Tuesday Scheduled an interview Friday the 31. And here I am waiting for the move forward email from him or the rejected email he said Tuesday (today) he would meet with the group and go over potential employees and have it out by tonight to set up a 3rd interview norm lasting 45min to an hour. Also if I had any questions about the job though of just email him. I ended up thinking of a few and emailed him Sunday but no email yesterday and still waiting for today....:questions to you ... What are my chances? Because I would really love a shot at this!

To answer your "question": The answer you are seeking is pure speculation. No one here, unless they're your recruiter, will be able to tell you your chances nor your standing. If you're looking for moral support, yes everyone here hopes you get the job. However, if you want accurate answers, your recruiter will provide you with the information as they have it or as they decide upon it.

Is July 1 iOS or CPU?

According to the posts I've seen here, both.

Anyone who has recently had their third interview, what sort of questions did they ask ? Were there more of the roleplay scenarios and more technical questions? Were they ios/CPU/itunes specific ? I've used the search function but its difficult to go through all the results and find worthwhile answers. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

My resumé was a rather simple .txt listing of experience that I put together in Notepad. Take that for what it's worth, but I think the skills and knowledge are a little more relevant than the format. Most big companies these days are not sniffing your resumé to see if it has perfume or feeling it to check the quality of the paper on which it's printed. As far as I can tell, the same can be said for the format. You're submitting it online and they're using automated software to scan for key words and phrases.

Further to that, I had no experience that most would have considered relevant. I'm not really inclined to get too personal here, but I had a service background. Computers were never more than a hobby. If you've read this thread for a while, then you probably already know that service is more important than tech knowledge for this particular gig. Keep that in mind as you decide what to emphasize in your .pdf or .doc or whatever you decide to use.

As curratech already noted, it's seven years for the background check.

Gotcha at what point you would recommend me asking my recruiter to follow up? End of week maybe or....what would be your advice?

No news is good news. Take that for what its worth. If you're set on following up, I followed up within a week of last contact, and no more than once, but that was for thank you notes and such.
