My boyfriend is in the exact same spot as you. He called last week and they told him that the background check company was behind and that’s what is causing the holdup. They said not to worry and that everything is going forward. He's probably going to give them another call tomorrow just to follow up. It wouldn't hurt to give HR a call just to check in. Just call the 877 number and select the HR department.

I am happy to hear that someone else is going through the same steps. I will give HR a call. Thanks for your help it was appreciated.

----------

At this point i would probably email someone at kelly services. Good Luck :)

Wave = Group :)

I agree with you, I will contact Kelly to see if I am still in the "race"
Thanks for your input it is always a good feeling to know other people care.

what are the pros and cons of this job?

Just wondering if this job is stressful because the pay is excellent, and what the pros/cons are. Also do you think that a minor who can legally work, be considered for this job? Just wanted a straight up rundown of the position in general.

Can anyone here explain something that has me very confused? My BGC was completed and sent to Apple on June 4th. I got my offer call June 14th and was told then that my start date had been moved back from July 1st to August 26th. I was shocked and mentioned something to the affect that pushing my start date back almost 2 months would be a huge financial burden but I would make do somehow because I really wanted this job. I was told that the July 1st class was full and August 26th was the next full time class. Something about classes were filled according to a first come type basis depending on when your bgc was completed. My bgc was completed 10 days before I was called. People here are still just getting their bgc completed and offer calls for classes July 8th and July 15th so why are some of us pushed back 2 months? I am full time and possibly the classes in early and mid July are part time? I was not told and haven't received my snail mail packet yet so I don't know if I am in iOS or CPU maybe this is the difference in dates? If anyone can shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Hey man Same thing happened to me I'm in the August 26th class And I am fulltime IOS so I'm sure they have a reason for it

Hey can someone PLEASE help answer a few things for me, I just got pushed back to the August 26th class for full time Ios and im just curious what are typical hours during training? and AFTER training how are your hours determined? do they ask your availability at all or do they just tell you what you are going to work? Like are the shifts different each day with a different schedule every week or once your have a schedule is it pretty much permanent with the same shifts every time you work?...And has anyone been told what exactly is our "Corporate discounts" and how we use them, because that sounds good #

I haven't started yet but I have worked a similar phone customer service job at call center before and if its anything like that, it can be repetitive and it can be hard for one that is very antsy, it takes lots of patience with customers and i cant say patience enough, if you can be patient, you will probably do fine, a phone job is going to mind numbing a lot of times regardless of what the job requires, I use to just try and really be upbeat and just try and act excited for every call even if your not because staying awake even can be a task especially if you have long wait times In between

Training will be 8 hours a day, five days a week (M-F). You'll be scheduled for nine hours, with an hour unpaid for lunch and a couple of paid breaks.

After training, your schedule will be consistent from week to week, until the next shift bid comes around. Then, for the time period covered by the next shift bid, your schedule will again be consistent from week to week.

Quite frankly, I wouldn't hold out a lot of hope that your availability will be given much weight when it comes to determining your schedule. My availability is pretty much wide open as it turns out, but I really don't remember anyone ever asking about it. I was given a schedule and that's the schedule that I work. If there are certain time periods when you can't work, then you might want to take that up with your manager as soon as you hear from him/her, before you bother going through the training. Maybe they'll consider it. Maybe they won't. Unless your turds produce AppleCare agreements and your urine produces universally effective software restores, you won't be viewed as an indispensable commodity who must be accommodated at all costs. I can assure you of that much.

You're likely to get evasive answers about the corporate discount for a couple of reasons. First is that some employees buy into the Apple mindset lock, stock, and barrel, so they think there's some legitimate reason to keep that sort of thing secret. Second is that most of the other employees just don't think it's worth testing the limits of the non-disclosure agreement in order to inform some unknown dude on the internet about a relatively insignificant detail. Since I won't be giving you a direct answer here, you can feel free to conclude that I fall into one of those two groups.

I will tell you that the Apple discount, as with every other discount from every corporation that offers one, is a nice perk but is not a reason to take a job or pass on one. Some careful Google searching will give you a general feel for it though, for whatever that's worth. It's not bad.

Thanks man, I want to apologize ahead of time if I ask too much lol I'm just really happy I got the job and want to know what to expect so Nothing is a suprise later lol. Now I have a old coworker of mine that works for apple and he told me that there are bids as well, I'm just trying to understand a little more in detail if you can. So after training, does your workweek consist of 5 consecutive days or will it be like work sunday off monday, next day of work might be weds type of thing similar to retail just with the same hours every time? Thats how my last call center job was, i just always worked same shift and we had bids too but they were done based off seniority and numbers so the ones who have been with the company longer along with those who had the best resolve rate got to grab the best schedules first BUT we were also allowed shift trades if any two people liked each others schedules better than their own so is it similar to that? Like if i do my very best during training and at my work which i intend and become stellar at work, does that allow you to grab the shift best for you? I basically have a completely open schedule and I can work every day of the week and I usually never have any conflicts with what I am about tell you but you never know especially since the schedule you get becomes permanent for probably couple months at a time. The reason i ask is because I am a very religious person (which I'm not trying make a convo about religion believe me) and i have only TWO hours out of TWO of days of the week that I spend for my worship, which you would think it would be unlikely my hours overlap that but you never know but after or even before I spend those two hours I am then open for the rest of the day so obviously if my schedule doesn't even fall on that day or around those hours then ill be fine but I understand what you are saying because they always will have someone to fill up a spot being that everyone wants to work for apple. Even with my current job they only make accommodations for people going to school, not for religious reasons, they practically laugh at the thought. I do have other days if my schedule falls on my day where I can also attend for worship but I like to attend my assigned meeting place. It definitely won't be a issue during training hours because those hours dnt even conflict with it at all. Thanks again man in advance for any insight you can give me. This is not to be taken as I am not thankful for this job or like I am having second thoughts because its no doubt I'm taking the job, its just hours and work weeks were the only things I haven't seen explained on this forum yet

I did my BGC on 6/19 as well. Today it says its completed. I guess that means I'm waiting on Apple to review it (its definitely clean), and give me a call. I'm supposed to start part time on July 15.

I'm sure you'll get the call soon now that it's complete. Mine still says in progress :( I know I have nothing in my background so hopefully it'll complete soon!

Hello everyone, I have a question

How long does the Background check take with Kelly Connect for the apple At Home Advisor?
Mine was started on 6/21.

On 6/25 I was told by a Recruiter at the 1-877# that 2 of my BGC's were completed and they were just waiting on a 3rd (the last one) to come back.
She said the first 2 were fine, and that they would contact me once the 3rd one comes back.

I know it's only been 6 days, but just wondering... :)

With Kelly Connect the BGCs depend on your local police/sheriff’s department. Sometimes it takes between a day and 2 weeks to send the info back to the requester/employer. If you have moved within the past 7 years they have to send a request to each county and get all the information from them. Hope this helps.

Please give me some feed back

Hello everyone,

could someone (please) tell me how this looks...I don't want to give exact dates in case apple actually checks this site

Beginning of the week I did the phone interview with apple for this position. I had a great connection with the recruiter and hit it off very well on the phone. The recruiter thought it was clear I'd be a great candidate and told me what my pay and start date would be. Then I was scheduled the skype interview.

Skype interview

The call the was scheduled early in the morning and the recruiter was late. Also this person was very short during the call and did not seem to have it together at all. (the worse case scenario) It was clear the recruiter needed to get off the phone to move on maybe to the next interview.

I have 7+ years of experience and certifications but this person did not even take the time to go over my resume in detail with me. The recruiter hoped to have answer for by the middle of next week, "when the resumes are reviewed with the hiring manager in a meeting." Then I was told, If I needed anything at all between now and then just to call the recruiter.

Does this sound right? I was not scheduled for a third interview or received any email after about doing the background check. I only signed the consent before the sype interview in the initial application. Has anyone been hired only on the skype interview? I feel like maybe i got HOSSED

You will get an email with a place for you to choose your interview if you are picked to continue.

HI!

I got a call from a recruiter today and have some questions.. If someone could please help me out (this is my DREAM job!)

She said that I needed some help on the tech side, but she loved my personality so to call back in two weeks to do another screening..

She said to go to apple.com/support and go to the community link and click at home advisor and study the questions she'd ask in two weeks.

I'm so confused because I can't seem to find this link she's referring to...

If someone could help me I'd appreciate it so much!

Thanks

But what I'm asking if this... the recruiter never mentioned to me there needed to be a 3rd interview. Has anyone ever been hired after the 2nd interview? From what the recruiter told me the next communication would be if I was hired or not.

From what I've seen and been through... There are always 3 interviews and a background check.

There is an advisor FAQ... Plus apple.com/support is full of info on what the support agents can help with.

Hey guys, just want let you know I finally got my offer call from apple. Pushed my training date back to august 12 but they upped the pay a little and told me that I am being considered for full time after training. For every one waiting for the BGC dont worry im sure your calls are coming. Can anyone in training already tell me if they changed your position from full time to part?
