BGC just completed. Took two days, for anybody searching the thread.

Everything was clear, except one thing. Unfortunately, it dug up a traffic accident I got in 4 years ago. Only traffic accident ever, not even a ticket since. Was a really snowy day and my car slid down a hill at an intersection and caused minor damage to the car I hit. Apparently, in the state where it occurred, it's a misdemeanor called "assured clear distance." I had NO idea that was a misdemeanor. Hoping that doesn't screw things up for me. :/

email the hiring manager immediately letting her know your side of the story. I had to do the same thing but different situation. =) just keep them in the know. Also tell HireRight as well. They document it.

Would that be the e-mail address of the manager that conducted my final interview?

EDIT: If so, I'm afraid I don't have it handy. I MIGHT have it at home on my iPad, since she initiated the call via FaceTime through some kind of generic "HiringManger1323123@apple.com" type email address. In the meantime, I emailed HireRight and the person who has been emailing me thus far in the process (initials: M.W.), so we'll see how it goes. I don't think it should be a HUGE deal that I have the misdemeanor on my record, but I want make it clear to both HireRight and Apple that I didn't fail to disclose it intentionally.

HireRight will tell you exactly who is doing the background check and give you their contact info. Although it is not a HUGE deal I would still have them document that you were unaware that it was classified as that. Apparently people were not hired due to incorrect dates on their applications so I would rather be safe than sorry. I indicated the wrong dates on my application and it was a goose chase to get the correct info but I contacted both HR and the manager to let them know it was a simple mistake due to the fact that the company changed management and I hadnt have contact with them in years. I think that's what helped me and pushed up my background check that was already delayed. Also by contacting your hiring manager it reminds them once again that the BC is completed =) good luck!

Yeah, I sent an email along to both HireRight and the Apple employee whose email address was listed in the report. Hopefully things will be cleared up and it won't end up harming my chances!

Thanks so much for your advice and reassurance. I'll update with any news on my end! (Again, for those searching/scanning the thread, I am being considered for the August 19th CPU class.)

I am located in IL. I have heard that kelly recruiting gets a little less but I also assume its based on location and experience? As well as which tier you are working and such

I see, I went through Apple directly and location seems to be the major difference here. I was told that New York gets paid the highest so far but that isnt confirmed yet...
Even still congrats my friend!

So I had my paperwork call yesterday and was told to take my new hire paperwork into an Apple Store ASAP. I called last night and made an appointment with a manager. I went in this morning and went back with a senior manager to have her sign off on my I-9 and look over my other stuff.

I couldn't believe the back part of the Apple store. I always assumed I guess that it was just a stock room, a break room, and a tech bench for the geniuses. It looked like a NASA control center. There must have been 25+ people back there working on different computers. There were whole racks of iPads and iPhones that the employees used, monitors covered every wall. It was crazy.

I wonder why you had to go to the apple store? i thought you just fill it out during the conference call and send it back.

Its to get your I-9 form filled out. The form just basically has a manger verify your identity by you providing certain amount of documentation such as a driver license and SS card.

This can also be done by any place that provides notary service, but its normally easier to have ti done at the apple store.

Look for something local. AT&T is in my area but asks around $25/month for a simple landline, but a local telecommunications company offers a bare bones like for $13/month.

i was told it could not be AT&T because their lines are considered wireless

It's probably specific to the cost of living in that city. Someone in NYC is going to get paid a lot more than someone in Buffalo or Rochester as it is much cheaper to live in those two cities than NYC even though it's the same state.

It's based on the State... not particular counties or regions. That would create quite a paperwork nightmare. The only reason I know this is because I've been thinking about relocating and have talked to a couple of senior managers.

And as someone mentioned and from what I've gleaned from employee chats, NY and Cal. have the highest starting rates.

hey I have been reading through the pages and so far have made it through 3 interviews for the at home advisor position. My third interview was on monday July 8th and was told it could take up to 2 weeks to hear back. So far I haven't heard anything and was wondering if this is normal to not hear anything yet. thanks
