Ding Ding Ding! The same questions being asked every third post is annoying. If you can't read a simple forum to find your answer you will have a horrible time searching for a resolution for a customer on the phone. EVERY question has been answered.

Between you and AG I want to soil my pants you two are soooo funny

why is everyone so upset that questions are asked a thousand times Just dont answer them if they annoy you. Also, the repetitive nature of this forum seems like good practice for the job. I am sure we'll hear the same questions asked a hundred different ways from our customers.

I agree! So what ignore it.

Believe me, I understand what you are saying. However, as a AHA our job (don't quote me but it just feels right) is to be able to locate solutions to customer questions by using resources that we have access to 2 help them. How would a team manager feel if an AHA is asking questions that they have the resources to answer it on their own but choose rather to ask the team manager?

All I'm saying is these are some of the basic skills you will need to do this job effectively. Why not get a head start??

Hours?

If you are hired part-time 20 hours, how hard is it to gain extra hours and when do the busy months start? October? November?

AG and Famous must be in the iOS queue. Us CPU guys have a little more tolerability to the idiotic questions asked on here.

Apparently you tolerate poor sentence structure as well.

Famous is in CPU and enjoys his job. I'm in iOS and do not enjoy my job in the least bit. Most of my work time is spent resetting apple id passwords and security questions nowadays. It's very easy but not very challenging or rewarding. After about 6 months this becomes a "no-brainer" type of job and as long as you prefer not to be challenged... you're good to go.

I'm going into Tier 2 mentoring this week and at first I was hesitant about going to T2 because it's full time and 40 hours on the phone is too much for me. I'll probably take the T2 promotion now just to get the cases that are harder to crack. I'm tired of Appleid problems and 12 year olds with passcode locked iPods.

Background check finished on Friday, so I'm playing the waiting game now. In the meantime, I noticed a few people posting who work on the CPU side of things. Would any of you guys mind giving me a few areas on which to brush up that would be helpful for training/working? I use primarily Windows machines at work and home due to work and school requirements, but I do have a Mac Mini set up with OS X Server on it at work. I tinker around with it often and have owned Macs in the past, but feel a bit rusty on some things.

Tips, pointers, etc.?

Have my third interview Friday afternoon and hoping things will go smoothly. If offered I will be starting August 26th. Anyone know if this is confirmed CPU class? Asked my second interviewer but she said they would let me know.

Just stick to the basics. The core functions of the OS. As an advisor you want touch server software, you won't touch applications. You'll be asked questions about apps, certain app calls are transferred to a specialized group other app questions we don't help with. We are tech support not one to one :)
Thanks! I appreciate that! I'm more than familiar with the OS itself, so I think technically speaking, I'm good to go. :) If you had to chunk out your calls into rough percentages based on what they pertain to, what would that look like?
