Background Check

Anyone on this forum get declined or know of someone that got declined the job after the background check, even having a clean record? I just wanted to know, as I have a clean background check. My friends and family are congratulating me like I have the job since they're running a BG Check on me. Just wanted to get an opinion on the job certainty after getting the HireRight Email. Thanks!

Someone a little earlier back in this forum did say that they knew someone that was sent a rejection letter after the background check even though it was clean. That is the only reason I am holding back my happy dance until I get that official call!! It seems odd that would be the case being as though Apple is paying for these background checks and not everyone makes it to this point so I dunno.....

FedEx hiring packet

Regarding the hire paperwork that is FedEx'd, do you have to sign for it, or will it be left at the door?

I didn't have to sign for it... I know our Fed-Ex driver really well and he knows where to put stuff if no one is home but I don't know if most drivers will leave a delivery or just hang a "will redeliver" notice on the door.

I made sure I was around because my scheduled call was the day after the scheduled delivery date and I couldn't afford risking missing the delivery. My call is in 45 minutes come to think of it...

Thank you for the update! I left a note on my door for them to leave it, if they don't I can head to the FedEx hub in-town and get it. If you can please update on what the call is about; mine is in a few days!

Yes, my friend got a decline letter 2 weeks after he submitted his background check even though everything came back clean and verified. Not sure why...He emailed the recruiter to find out but she never responded. Seems really strange but I saw the background check and it was fine. He only had 2 jobs that needed to be verified and they were and no criminal history. It even said how they verified the 2 jobs. But.....he wasn't applying for the at-home advisor position. He applied for a different at-home position so I don't know if they do things differently. I'm guessing that Apple put through more people than they needed and had to decline some. Just a guess though!

**I think if you're going for the at-home advisor and made it to the background check you'll get it. I haven't seen otherwise yet for that particular position.

Maybe theyover-hired. But I think Apple compared my work history on my resume/application and verified if I worked the dates I disclosed. So the back-ground check is not just to verified that he/she actually worked somewhere, but also the LENGTH of employement.

You're right. Sorry I didn't elaborate. It stated "verified title" and listed the title. It then stated "verified dates" and listed the dates that were verified. It all matched up. It also stated how they verified it, for example, verified through HR or automated system.

I just completed the paperwork session. They go over everything included in the paperwork that's sent in and then they go into details about some of it. They allow everyone to ask as many questions as they want. It only lasted that 45 minutes as mentioned. Very brief. They have two people talk and that's it. Phones are muted. Everything is to the point. But they were friendly.

That doesn't sound too bad. So then you Fedex back to HR and thats it? Do they discuss anything on when you'd receive a schedule, or when your office is to be set up?
(Thank you for taking the time to post this info)

Just received my job offer call!! I am beyond excited and now I can stop irritating my husband about it. I also got pushed back to the 9/24 class. I was originally told 9/10, but I am completely fine with that. Looking forward to working with everyone!

Thats interesting. I've heard the BG-checks are like $100, so that seems like a rare incident.

AHA Hires over 40

I am not sure....hopefully i get more than 20 after training. My recruiter called me to tell me i have the job :)!! If you had to fill out the hire right form than most likely you have the job; if your not a murderer or something....

I'm 46 and I got received my signed background check. So, I don't think I will have a problem with that. So, yeah. I think my chances are pretty good at this point.

Just to encourage some of you, I also had employment verification issues plus a few misdemeanors from when I was younger and still got the offer. I think what was said previously is accurate: if you are in the background check process then you have the job unless you have serious felonies.

Hired!

Hey Guys, just wanted to give everyone an update. I just got the offer call. I had my final interview on 8/16 and submit my HireRight background check on 8/17. My start date is 9/17. Thanks everyone for giving a timeline for this stressful hiring process.

Just got my offer call :D Offer was indeed at a higher pay rate and the training start date was pushed back to the 24th. Good luck to everyone!

Pretty much everyone at the retail level got an across the board pay raise of up to 25%. Store employees are reporting a 5 - 10% raise. The $14 listed in the job ad reflects the old rate and everybody getting hired now gets paid because of the rate adjustment... not because you did well in the interview.

Wall Street article

I'd bet my first pay check that every single new AHA hire starts at the same rate everyone else gets.
