7/16 Applied on Apple's website
7/18 Received a call, phone interview, scheduled skype interview
7/24 Skype interview, was told I'd be recommended to the hiring manager! :)

Was told I should receive an email in 3-5 days, looking forward to my next interview, as stressful as they are! If they hire me, they said I'd be in the Sept. 9th class, but did not say iOS or CPU, so I assume iOS.

I have to give you an "A" for attitude, there's no way I could have done this job with Kelly. Even with Apple's pay and benefits I've come within an inch of quitting more than once. Customer service just isn't my thing. Unfortunately, given my age and location, I'm kind of stuck with it for the time being.

Definitely give Apple another shot. There are plenty of other companies that are much better to work for than Apple but if you're young and do not have a STEM degree... a few years at Apple and you can start pulling down some serious cash.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I totally understand that this sort of thing isn't for everyone. Heck, I hate talking on phones myself but it seems to be what I'm best at so I roll with it. I'm not so young (I have a daughter entering college this year) but I don't have what it takes to get a degree myself so my options are limited. I really do wish you the best of luck in getting back to something that you're more suited to. I know how miserable it can be to have to go to work every day at a job that you just don't mesh with.

Good luck, Jon! If you've gotten this far, they see something they like! :) :apple:

Tahlequah, OK
Hey guys I have been lurking around on this board for a few weeks now and have applied for around 10 different positions and haven't got a single e-mail or phone call. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips on what they are looking for. I am pretty good when it comes to computers and I have been a manager at my current job for 4 years so my customer services skills are very refined. Any suggestions? I would appreciate it!

It took 3 months for me to hear from Apple but when they called things were not good I had to decline until recently I re emailed the person hand eking the case.
However I've noticed they have really improved on things. I'm sure you'll hear something.
Good Luck!

I appreciate the enthusiasm you have, but that's pretty unlikely in CPU. Not only do you have to have outstanding metrics, but things just have to kind of come together for you when they announce openings (which is rare). If you have one bad week and thats the week they happen to be looking at when you're being considered, you may be out of luck. That's not to mention that they prefer people have a bachelors degree for Tier 2.

I've read they do benefits on education.
I'd like to get certified in Apple support. Can anyone confirm the education befits I've read it's about 5,000 total.

Thanks everyone

I still just want to know what days payday falls on this month so I can note for future reference, i know its biweekly, just would like to plan it out so I can figure out when my first paycheck will be lol

I'd say its different for everyone. Depending on when you start. IMO

Hey all, I was hired threw Kelly services & was told I'd start training on 7/22. 7/21, 7/22, & 7/23 roll around, nothing. I finally got a call on the 23rd & the guy told me that they had put a hold (or something of that nature) on the classes. anyway, he basically said I would have to hang tight & wait around for the fall classes to start up & I'd be at the top of the list & wont have to do any interviewing or BGC's over again.

My question is would it be a bad idea to apply for the job directly threw apple now & just see how it goes? Would I potentially lose both jobs if I did this?

You're in the ballpark. Not sure what kind of certification you're talking about though. The credit is for degree-seeking classes, directly applicable to your current job, at an approved college or university. They won't be reimbursing you for some sort of Apple class at DeVry or anything. A communication class at the University of Florida, on the other hand, would be covered.

Umm.. i dont agree.. why would everyone have different paydays? i just want to know what the dates it falls on this month.. its once every two weeks... i'm sure EVERYONE gets paid on the same day... why would they have payroll set up so its different for everyone....
Nobody is getting paid this week. Good enough?

Even though you are correct you're a pretty cold SOB for raining on their parade.

It's all good Gerbil. The facts to me are more important than him worrying about making me feel bad. Heck, I'm thrilled to be offered an amazing opportunity to work for Apple. I've worked in a call center for a local Telco for many years and this is a step up for me. And I'm most of the way through my Bachelors Degree so that won't be a roadblock for me much longer. I appreciate everyone's feedback in this forum. :)

That's cool... not everyone can take cold, hard facts without a little sugar coating. Even though I'm in iOS, I've talked to a number of folks in CPU and their Tier 2 path is far more grueling than iOS Tier 2. Heck, we've had a few people bumped to Tier 2 just after 5 months on the job. The T2 guy that was working with me has been with Apple 14 months and he's already a Tier 2 trainer so yeah, you can move up pretty quickly if you got game.

Where are all the August 12th Class people? I keep seeing everyone in classes starting on all other dates and know I can't be the only one starting on August 12th. Anyways, Welcome Fellow Classmates and please say hello! :apple:

AppleGrandma, is your class CPU? I'm in the 8/26 IOS class. Good luck! Your start date is approaching quickly! :apple:

Have you received you Mac yet for the class?

Me? Or AppleGrandma? I was told that we would get the equipment the Friday before our start date. So, for 8/26--I will look for mine on 8/23. They don't send it out too soon because you can't even open it until the morning of your first day.
