Interview in a few hours... The only thing I'm nervous about is role-playing. That and not keeping it simple I went way over technical for them on a simple mail troubleshoot question. Kicked my self for that!

So I received my login today, July 25th, for the myPage site. My start date is 8/5. I went though the benefits portion of it, and it was word for word the exact same as what was included in the new hire packet you have probably already seen AppleGrandma. It doesn't provide the details you were looking for.

There was a link on the side for a free 10 songs from iTunes as a gift from Apple.

I got mine as well this morning at like 5AM. Was very surprised to see the 10 free iTunes songs download code but very excitied to already see the incentives coming out for being an Apple employee :)

MyPage stuff was pretty basic though :)

Ill see you in the classroom on training day classmate :D

Im also curious, was told there would be a Mac, keyboard, mouse (magic mouse i hope), a phone system, 2 headsets, and an "Apple gift pack". What is the "gift pack"

I'll be in the Aug 19th class if I can justify going from full time to working half that

Received my offer email and accepted today. :) So pleased with myself :)

Congrats! You should be! ;)

----------

I'm in iOs and can't wait since my original start date was 7/1.

Ugh! I know!! My original start date was 7/15. I got the offer call on 6/28 and they told me I was being pushed back to 8/26. It's such a conflicting moment---being simultaneously elated and hugely disappointed. Luckily, I had a job that I wasn't super bummed about having to work for an extra six weeks.

So in the offer letter, it says we will be required to work a minimum of 20 hours for part time. Does that mean we could possibly pick up, say, an extra shift and work 24 regularly? Or is that referring exclusively to the fact that they flex us up during holidays/releases? Also, is there a way to pick up shifts others have had to drop?

I know all of this will be answered in time, but I figured I might as well ask here while I wait to do my paperwork session.

Yes but when I was looking around some areas only have part time listings and some have only full time.

If you're in the 8/26 class, it's most definitely PT. FT through training, nesting, and the "go live" period, but definitely PT after that. I was in the paperwork session on Monday (as I'm in the 8/26 class also) and this was confirmed. Sorry if I'm mistaken and you're not in that class, but I thought you mentioned previously that you were.

How about it's going to look pretty bad if your FIRST IMPRESSION as an employee is that you can't follow directions? Seems like a pretty significant consequence to me.

Sorry if that sounds harsh--but I just don't understand why this is even a question.

Its ABSOLUTELY not part-time. My offer letter clearly states this is a full-time position with a required 40 hours per week. They must be mixing full and part time employees. It also states that I begin on 8/26.

Perhaps that is the case--all I had to go on is that in the paperwork session, they made a blanket announcement that we're all in the 8/26 class and then proceeded to tell us the schedule from there-which was part time for everyone after an initial full time training period. Sorry for the confusion--I was under the impression that iOS rarely hired for full time until T2. Who knows? There's so much information floating around--correct and incorrect. :) See you on 8/26.

Thanks for your opinion. Again my question was directed to individuals who have opened the package prior to start date, not to those with opinions on how it may look bad.

You're welcome! Any time! Interestingly enough, I'm reading an article about a study that found direct correlation between those who prefer immediate vs. delayed gratification and level of intelligence. I bet you know where I'm going with this. Have a great night!

The manager I spoke with on my 3rd interview said its full-time iOS.... so I guess I got lucky??? My letter states full-time as well. :) Can't wait until 8/26, it seems so far away.. :)

That's awesome! Yeah, definitely lucky! There weren't (nor are there currently) any FT positions available when I applied! Nice work! It seems like FOREVER until the end of August. :)
