Good morning, AG. I see that I'm not the only one suffering from "early bird syndrome." Your alternate link post was a riot. He gets major props for tenacity. Good on him, I say!

I realize that getting out of an employment rut is not easy and many of us just keep making the rut deeper. That being said, I've seen ex geek squaders do everything from getting certifications to teaching themselves programming and moving on with their careers. I know one guy that now does custom sound system/home theater installs and makes more than I ever will.

As a slacker myself I can't say much but initiative is what makes or breaks careers.

I've been getting up at 4 AM most of my life, that's why the AHA hours are tough for me. I'm on EST as well and AHA pretty much runs on CST. I did a short stint on the 8 to midnight shift and it was killing me because I still got up at 4. I lucked out because someone on days moved over to chat support and I was able to take their old day shift spot. Otherwise I would have quit.

T2 can get pretty rough since you ARE the escalation... the only thing above T2 are the engineers. I'm still going to try and get into CPU even if I'm in T2. I'll see what next month's internal job fair has to offer. Spiffing up my résumé as we speak.

I have a few questions:)

-I applied over a week ago for a position in the Columbus, Ohio area. What is the typical wait time before receiving a call or the dreaded email saying 'thanks but no thanks'....lol ?

-Also, has anyone applied for the same position in another area/state?

I already have an in home office and have worked from home for several years now so this would be perfect for me.... and the fact I love Apple and really need to find steady income:)

Thank you in advance for any insight!

There is in fact a Tier 2 for CPU but from what I hear, they are demi-gods and you must sacrifice a chicken in order to escalate a call.

I also start on the 19th and got the email from someone in recruiting. Paperwork session for me was last Friday and had lots of people in it that were all starting on the 19th.

ahh.. I just accepted Friday at 3PM. how long before you got yours after you accepted? my recruiter is out all week
