Now that's what I'm talking about! I pay $498 per month for a federal gov't PPO plan. Thanks for sharing for this was one of my most concerns.

On today, I also had a telephone interview with another well-known company for its work-at-home customer service position. It pays less than Apple (a little over $11), has a prolonged waiting period before eligibility of medical benefits; no paid time off for part-time employees, and pays for telephone line installation but you have to eat the costs of monthly services -- no additional reimbursement or utility compensation incentive.

The only up was that you're guaranteed 30 hrs per week and get to select your schedule b/w the hrs of 9-11, one day on the weekend and work holidays. However, you're committed to the selected schedule for one full year before you can revise it; you're not required to be available during peak hours either.

We're very fortunate to have this opportunity with Apple.

I believe I saw a posting today with said company. Does it start with a "C"? I was thinking about checking it out as well.

----------

I'm really hoping and praying my offer call will come soon. Going on day 9 of background check

Did my background check on September 11 :(

I just wanted to let those know who are applying for this position and haven't gotten a response to definitely apply in different cities and states. I'm in the South and on the East coast and the position I applied for was less than 100 miles away but that wasn't the location that triggered me getting the questionnaire. I applied for Texas locations as well. I have my reasons as to why I applied for Texas but I believe it was the Dallas application that got me the interview. There are a lot of new hires from the Dallas area. My assumption of this was pretty much verified today. Good luck to all those still going through the process. I hope you get your offer calls soon. :)

I'm not sure of this but Apple may need to still to be hiring in your state regardless of whether or not you apply outside your state. You may get a questionnaire back from a recruiter from a city and state outside of yours if you've applied in other areas. One of the questions on my questionnaire asked for the requisition number and the city and state that I applied for. I mentioned that I had applied for multiple areas. I thought this was odd since they get the resume and should be able to see the requisition number for which you've applied.

for all those concerned about background check..

here is some of the info from the background check of what you have to agree to in the background check

The background report may contain information concerning your character, general reputation, personal characteristics, mode of living, and credit standing. The types of information that may be obtained include, but are not limited to: social security number verifications; address history; credit reports and history; criminal records and history; public court records; driving records; accident history; worker's compensation claims; bankruptcy filings; educational history verifications (e.g., dates of attendance, degrees obtained); employment history verifications (e.g., dates of employment, salary information, reasons for termination, etc.); personal and professional references checks; professional licensing and certification checks; drug/alcohol testing results, and drug/alcohol history in violation of law and/or company policy; and other information bearing on your character, general reputation, personal characteristics, mode of living and credit standing.
This information may be obtained from private and public record sources, including, as appropriate: government agencies and courthouses; educational institutions; former employers; personal interviews with sources such as neighbors, friends and associates; and other information sources. If the Company should obtain information bearing on your credit worthiness, credit standing or credit capacity for reasons other than as required by law, then the Company will use such credit information to evaluate whether you would present an unacceptable risk of theft or other dishonest behavior in the job for which you are being evaluated.

Being a professional analyst, perhaps, they are waiting to see how many successfully pass the exams in the 9/10 to 9/24 sessions to ensure maintenance of a budgetary quota for this position. However, that's a mere assumption on my behalf.

LOL 9/10 person here. We have an upcoming exam next week known as "the widow maker". That's all I'm gonna say.

Are you serious? We will be moving to Texas by the end of next year. How in the world did I ruin anyone's chance? My address was clearly visible on my résumé and official Apple application. Get over yourself....

And by the way if someone didn't get hired from the Dallas area, it wasn't anything that I did on my part. Apple chose not to hire them.

Congrats to youse who are hearing something back. I still haven't heard anything from Apple nor Kelly Services. I am located in NJ, maybe that has something to do with it but the Allentown locations is well under 100 miles from me. Oh well, I'll keep plugging away and wait to see if I hear something abck

I'm making an assumption here....

I think Apple will only hire individuals if they currently have openings listed in your state. You may not be hired for the location that you've applied for even if you've only applied for the position in your state. It is based on the availability on teams across the country. I'm thinking you're placed on teams that have openings but Apple has to be hiring in your state. I don't think the 100 mile rule applies to the corporate AHA position. If Apple is not hiring in your state, you may not hear anything even if you're less than 100 miles from a city in a state that they're hiring for. :(

I may be wrong. If you did get hired by Apple and they didn't have openings in your state, please correct me if I'm wrong. It was just a matter of connecting the dots....

You sound like a three year old LOL. I have no control over their hiring process. You're basically saying that there's a possibility that I took a spot from someone who got rejected or who hasn't gotten a response back yet. You're ridiculous LOL..

Hey all - been reading this thread for a while and finally have something to ask myself! HireRight is working on their check on me however they don't seem to understand what self employed means... they want:

What We Need:
• Documentation that verifies your starting and ending dates of employment for Self Employed. Acceptable forms of documentation may include W-2 forms, pay stubs and/or 1099 forms.
• Provide one of the following: a Professionally Prepared Tax Statement signed by a third party, Business License, Article of Insurance, State Tax License, or County Clerk Record of DBA.

I have told them over and over again that I don't have any of that as I have been working as myself and not as a business. Will they kick it out to Apple at some point saying they are unable to verify or is it in limbo until I can make them happy? What exactly is it they are after? Should I contact my rep at Apple and discuss this with them? I mean they know I was self employed already.

Sigh @ red tape.

Thanks!

I do not have a professionally prepared tax return as is indicated. I do my own taxes.

I would just send that and say tough. It's what I have, it shows proof of income for my self employment so deal with it. Bitches. :)

And your point is LOL. It makes sense. My hunch was pretty much validated but I won't go into details. As I said before GET OVER YOURSELF and stop having a temper tantrum. :p
