Playing the waiting game

I had an interview Monday and it was a phone conversation not the Skype one but that one is scheduled for Monday so I guess I need to brush up on my tech stuff. I am getting a little nervous because I have already accepted the job with Kelly but am hoping to be hired with Apple before my training begins on July 23. I really need the benefits and the higher pay that Apple offers vs Kelly. Either way it will be the same position so I am just hoping for the best.

Good Luck to you guys

----------

Hi everyone!

I applied directly on the Apple site, have been through the interview, background check, and was called and offered the job. I was told I'd be getting an offer email and an overnighted set of paperwork-this call was yesterday. I didn't get the paperwork or email. I emailed the recruiter who called with the offer and she checked and said i wouldnt get the overnighted paperwork until I receive the email offer and to shoot her an email if I don't get the offer email by Friday. She said not to worry, but of course I am. How long does it take?

How long did everything take from the first contact to the job offer? How long did the background check take? Just trying to get a time frame in my head.

I'm curious of the tech questions asked during the interview process. I've already been through two separate phone interviews and my final Skype interview in on Monday.

I have little technical experience, but during both interviews my enthusiasm was noted and they seemed interested in moving forward.

Can someone go over these "simple" questions and the resolutions to them?

Thanks for the help!

Hey, everyone, I had avoided saying this before because I thought it was kind of verboten, but I see other people have, so I am coming out to say I am currently a Kelly Services agent doing iOS support. I have put in 34 applications with Apple for their at-home positions, and I did receive an e-mail back regarding one position asking me 11 questions, which I responded to right away. I've sent one followup again since then. It's been about a week since I received the e-mail, and I haven't heard back. I was wondering for those who have moved forward in the hiring process whether you received an e-mail like this and if you received a response to your response, how long did it take? I sent the recruiter one followup, but I don't want to stalk them.

Hey everyone! I had a phone interview on Wednesday for an At Home Service Expert. All I would do is change people's orders or answer their order questions, PERFECT! I had the first interview slot, so she didn't say anything about recommending me, should I be worried? She said I'd hear back within 2 weeks. Like others have said, I've never wanted a job so bad in my life!! Also, it is overnight, and the interview only consisted of asking the normal technical questions about space, phone line and Internet.

Has anyone else heard about that position? It seems like it's new.

I got that email and a phone call, when they requested a call back time I told them the following day and that is when I had my first interview. Did they provide you a number to call and schedule the initial interview. I would double check.

I have to say I haven't heard of that position bu. I have seen other who received the same answer and were eventually offered the job so I would keep my fingers crossed. Was it via Apple or Kelly?

I have been keeping up with this thread through my hiring process, it has been helpful. I wanted to be certain I got the position before posting anything and I was made an offer a little over a week ago. I'm in the July 23rd training session as well. I was hired through Kelly Connect also, but am hoping in desperation that it leads to a full time position with Apple. It's pretty exciting and I am thrilled to work from home since I have another small business in infancy I am trying to launch. I hope we can help one another as questions arise! So that puts auroraceleste, VA-enthusiast and I all together! ;0)

Waiting

Had my Skype interview this morning with Apple and besides my kids interrupting me it went great. I decided to use the common area of the house instead of my office (crazy idea). It was not too technical and I really enjoyed speaking with the interviewer. I asked lots of questions and I think that really impressed her. I hope to hear back from them soon. She told me due to the holiday I might not hear back until next week so I get to keep my fingers crossed for the next couple of days.

On the flip side if this position doesn't work out I will be starting the training class for kelly on july 23rd.

Good luck to all

Congratulations to everyone who has been hired!

When you were contacted for a second interview or job offer, did they call or email? It hasn't been quite a week yet, but I'm so anxious to find out if I made the cut.

My husband went through the process last year and his interviews were phone, phone, in person. So it seems as though they are changing things up a bit. Was your second interview on the phone or web chat?

Did everyone have the same recruiter? Mine was SB both times I've applied. I'm afraid if I email her to ask I'll look silly.

They reposted the job, should I be worried?

Question

Did you ever get the paper work overnighted to you?

I have been applying for every position like this within a 50 mile radius of where i live since February. I applied again Mid-May. I got a call on June 15, answered a few questions, the caller said she was scheduling me for another interview (phone). The second (June 20th) call went well and I was told I was being moved to a third, FaceTime interview on June 25. It went well I thought. I then got the HireRight email a few hours later. Filled it out right away. On the 26th, I got a call around 3 from the second person who called offered the job and in July 23rd class. She said I'd be overnighted paperwork and I'd get the official email later in the week. I didn't get the overnight stuff on the 27th, (yesterday), and emailed the girl who called to offer job, and she said there was nothing to be concerned about and if I didn't get the email by Friday, to shoot her an email.

I'm just waiting for that email. I pray it comes soon.

OH! And I just retired from teaching after 29 years and I'll be 51 in July...Apple does take the word "diversity" seriously. Be careful not to discuss how much you were offered.

If you want a full time with apple you'll have to keep applying via apple because working for Kelly will not move you up. I asked someone on another forum and they had to go through the entire hiring process with apple just like a newbie even though they already worked for Kelly. Good luck, if it doesn't work out with Apple for me I'll be seeing you in the July 23 class.

Atlanta, GA
A week ago today, I applied for an At Home Advisor position in the Atlanta, GA area - directly from the Apple website. Other than wait for their contact, what can I proactively do to facilitate my information being reviewed/seen? Should I stop in at a local store and talk to a manager? At this point, I just feel my application has gone into the virtual trashcan... Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Sometimes it takes the recruiters a few weeks to get back to you. This last time it had been at least 3 weeks from the time I applied to the time I got a request for an interview. I wouldn't be too discouraged. As for going to the Apple store, you could and see what they have to say, but the at home positions are Corporate and not retail.

Good luck to you!

Okay, I just registered for an At-Home Advisor job and I have to ask two things:

1) Is a cover letter necessary?
2) Do I have to have a land line? We can't afford a land line so we only have cellphones.

Judi13, I have been following your posts because your timeline was exactly the same as mine. I had my FaceTime interview on the 25th and got my background check email the next day. They said the background check was submitted back to Apple on Thursday the 28th. I still haven't heard anything so I'm thinking about emailing the HR person at Apple. I know it's only been a few business days since they received it but I'm so anxious to know the outcome. They did mention I would be in the July 30 class if I was offered the job so I'm being optimistic and hoping they are contacting people for the 23rd class first. Did the HR contact seem ok with you contacting them? I don't want to come across as pushy or over eager but I'm starting to think a simple email wouldn't hurt. Thanks.

Yes you need a landline. Apple gives $50 a month toward it. I didn't have a cover letter.

Does having or not having a landline effect the chances of landing the job? So basically a cellphone doesn't count as an actual landline? I accidentally answered that I have a landline even though I didn't.
