He's not that wrong, but it depends on the scene.I am going to call Shens. You got screen caps showing this?
Resolution is different though, 1920x1200 vs 1920x1080.

Careful, calling out mitchy has got me banned on more than one occasion. Don’t want you to go to purgatory too! It’s bs obviously.
I swear this is the answer that sane, rational people come to in every thread like this and it still hasn’t sunk in.Yes, of course. No one is arguing that AAA games can't be made with Metal. It's all about market share and money.
I no longer have SoTR installed on MBA M1 but AppleGamingWiki guy gets the same fps at 1080p highest preset.

Fair, though it seems like the MacBook Air is CPU limited more than the others. He's not that wrong, but it depends on the scene.

Oh I know. I have suffered the same fate! Appreciate the warning nonetheless.Careful, calling out mitchy has got me banned on more than one occasion. Don’t want you to go to purgatory too!

I will admit I was wrong though. Shens retracted.
I actually got the bottom two (in the still) mixed up. The M1 isn’t CPU limited.Hmmm, as pointed, out different resolution, different settings (low vs lowest etc). The usual nonsense from the master of hashcat.
Going from 1920x1080 to 1920x1200 and lowest to low isn't going to drop 100+ FPS though.Hmmm, as pointed, out different resolution, different settings (low vs lowest etc). The usual nonsense from the master of hashcat.
You're obviously new. It's common knowledge that games run better under Windows x64 boot camp than native Metal version in MacOS. It's only worse with AS since no more boot camp but more translation layers so more jank. You can have decent frame rate but jank will ruin the gaming experience.
Exactly. If you want to game on several titles and forgo the watered down versions, you have to have a side gaming Windows machine. There is no way around it.Yeah this is why I added a gaming PC to my computer setup. I was getting tired of playing watered down Mac versions. It was practically night and day. Plus access to games which will never be on Mac. My gaming rig is nothing special either just a lowly Haswell but with a Nivida GPU. Plays everything. The only recent game where I needed to lower settings was Cyberpunk 2077, opps no Mac version.
Ah yes, tell me more about those Mac only games that you play. These type of threads always make me hook up my gaming PC, look through Steam for half an hour, be unable to find a single game that looks good, and then go back to my Mac.

Furthermore, some games never even come to the Mac due to the smaller market of the Mac vs PC.
I built a nice gaming computer (a while ago) and it still works just fine for my favorites (Cities: Skylines, Surviving Mars, AOE2 DE and others)
In fairness, Apple had been announcing the 64bit to 32 bit switch in 2018, game developers should have updated their games. Why don’t you ask my Steam library, which on Mac has dropped from 75+ games to 9 today. Better yet, again, just admit you don’t care about this and we can both move on.
There aren’t a lot of arguments to make about macOS AAA gaming. It’s still a good thread, though, as looking up some of the claims made sends me on searches that bring me to a deeper understanding of the whole thing. I’d assume it does the same for a few others.I like how this thread is still being replied to with the same arguments.
It's better to buy from Steam, because you can then play the games on any supported platform. Even if you have only Macs today, you can't know for sure what you will have in the future.Should you really be using Steam if you game on the Mac? Isn't that what the Mac App Store is for?
Whaaaa, no one on this forum switches back to pc once they use a Mac…It's better to buy from Steam, because you can then play the games on any supported platform. Even if you have only Macs today, you can't know for sure what you will have in the future.
I mentioned some of the top of my head. I have several more tho.Interesting that your two first favorites you mention are available for Mac.
Hey glad to see we agree on something 👍Exactly. If you want to game on several titles and forgo the watered down versions, you have to have a side gaming Windows machine. There is no way around it.

And a Mac serves how well as a console right now? Or as a TV box? That is a fair take.
I mean there are more Mx macs than Playstation 5’s but that doesn’t seem to stop console developers from making PS5 games…
Yup, not to mention the whole trying to upgrade your gaming setup without having to throw away the entire thing.Hey glad to see we agree on something 👍
I think you're confused. I meant that I couldn't find any games I wanted to play full-stop.Ah yes, tell me more about those Mac only games that you play.
This is correct. I never claimed to be a "gamer", I just sometimes enjoy playing video games (except right now everything except Elden Ring is garbage)Lies, your are not even a gamer.
So now it isn’t a numbers game? And a Mac serves how well as a console right now? Or as a TV box?
Again, different markets.
