Thousands of years of history also said slavery was ok. It doesn't seem to be ok in this day and age. Marriage is not owned by anyone religion, group or person. Marriage has also changed over time, there is zero reason it can't change now either.
If you don't mind me asking, do you identify as straight or gay? Could you tell me why you decided to be the sexuality you are?
Also, under what conditions do you sometimes alter the sex of person you are attracted to? Or maybe you haven't done this? You should probably try it before you decide whether it's possible or not.
People who identify as bi-sexual don't 'choose' to be attracted to both men and women at the same time, that's just the way they find themselves.
So you choose to ignore attractions to the same sex? As for bi-sexuals, they are attracted to both sexes, so choosing to be with one, doesn't really conflict with the over all feeling of attractions to both.

I'm straight but I have friends who are openly bi-sexual. They don't seem to have a problem switching been men and women, and yes they are able to do both at the same time. It's clearly a conscious choice they make.
I just tried really hard (or not) to find a woman sexually attractive. It didn't work. I admire you for being able to find both sexes hot to the point where you can simply choose to have intercouse with either!
So you agree they are attracted to both. That's the point being made, choosing who to be with on day X doesn't negate the attraction to both sexes.
Their actions are a choice. But what they didn't choose was that they feel attracted to both sexes at the same.
They did not wake up at some point thinking "Let's also like men". But of course they choose what action to take as a result. Cook could have chosen to get married to a woman. Still that wouldn't change the fact that his sexual attraction is towards men and wouldn't make him a heterosexual.

However, there are plenty of mentions of homosexuality in the Old Testament promising death and eternal damnation, but if you follow every rule in the Old Testament, you wouldn't be able to eat at Red Lobster this weekend lest ye face the same result.

The new testiment doesn't state anything about homosexuality. The Old testiment does.
Judaism still follows the old testiment. Most jewish people are very welcoming of homosexuality. Homosexuality was legalized in 1988 (and anti-gay laws weren't enforced since 1963). Discrimination against sexual orientation was strictly outlawed since 1992, While they are yet to perform same sex marriages themselves, they recognise foreign marriage licenses for same sex marriages as married.
Thus, all from a country, based on a religion thats old texts you claim to be so adherent to. The Jewish people were quicker to give up the hatred and discrimination of gay people long before they were willing to eat shellfish and pork.
so, let them keep using the bible as an excuse for bigotry. its self apparent what they're really trying to defend.
I for one, Despite being atheist is not apposed to religions. You have ever right to your faith. But just remember, in the lack of absence of evidence of your faith (since no religion has ever proven a deity), you have no objective basis for your faith and therefore, any morality lesson your faith has, can not be objectively applied to others. Keep your faith, and your bigotry to yourself. Don't force it on others.

Jesus (if such person existed) violated many of the old testiment Sacred prophetic statements. According to the actual Old Testiment, and the Talmud, Jesus was what is considered a "false prophet" as his coming, and his own words contradicted the word of god as said by previous prophets.
According to the OT and Talmud, the Jewish teachings (which jesus claimed to be part of), God is infallible. Omnipotent and never, Ever, EVER, wrong. Therefore, one prophet cannot ever contradict the words of a previous prophet. EVER. it is a truth of the very faith he was supposedly part of based on the Old testimant.
It is very interesting if you ever go study religions from a theoretical and sociology perspective. You get to see how certain religions have changed fundamentally over the millenium (All religions change). What most "bible thumping christians" spout, especially from the south, is actually very FAR from what Christianity and early catholocism actually was. It has been modified over the years by kings and queens to best suit their manipulative goals.
No matter how complicated it is, MacRumors have done it in the past just as I have said. They have proven capable of such a task. Thus putting every mention of the word gay in PRSI is totally not needed. It IS an excuse.
Being gay is only an issue to people who can't understand what the word equality means.

I'm sorry if I've offended you, and you've quite misinterpreted me if you think I would ever discriminate against bi-sexual or transgender people.
It's great that you support the LGBT community even IF sexual orientation was a choice.. but it's just not.
Please go to a gay bar and ask around; or go to a gay pride event and ask around.. do your own research instead of reading an article on the internet... Regardless of what one person says or claims, 99% of LGBT individuals you ask will tell you they did not choose their sexual attraction. Bi-sexual people happen to be attracted to the both sexes.. again, this isn't a "choice," it's just the attraction they did not pick, which happens to be to both sexes.. sometimes this sways 70% one way, 30% another, etc.. Transgender people also didn't "choose" to feel the way they do, either.
And for the record, I have love for everyone.. LGBT & straight.

I'm struggling to see which bit you don't understand.
If we're going to pigeon hole people:
Straight people find members of the opposite sex attractive
Gay people find members of the same sex attractive
Bisexual people find members of both sexes attractive.
It's not "switching". In the same way a straight guy can find two women attractive at the same time, a bi guy can find a man and a woman attractive at the same time.
It really isn't rocket science.

Please explain to me how hom issuing a statement means he has taken his focus off of Apple. Such a ridiculous comment.
If it stops enough people around the world buying Apple products it will affect Apple's sales and revenue which will in turn affect their share price.
Like it or not homosexuality is still illegal in many countries around the world and causes hatred in many other countries. Cook has effectively outed Apple as an actively pro-gay company. Only time will tell to what extent this affects their sales and revenues. Right or wrong he's taking a risk.
Bisexuality is not a choice, it's just the natural state of our specie - just look at apes, the most evolved, like bonobos, are bisexuals.
But most people are not able to tap into their full potential and restrict their options. Some of these are heterosexuals and some are homosexuals. But being bisexual is not really a choice, it's just following our nature.

You seem to be implying that Jesus didn't call people out on their sin. Are you aware of what Jesus said about his ministry when the Pharisees accused him of hanging with sinners? According to Mark 2:17, he said:
“It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
Jesus hung out with people to reveal their sin and call them to repentance. The NT is very clear on his bluntness about this. He told his disciples this in Matthew 10:14-15:
14"Whoever does not receive you, nor heed your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake the dust off your feet. 15"Truly I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.
In case you are unaware, God pretty much nuked Sodom and Gomorrah. But this is not what he wants to have to do to even the most vile of his children. He doesn't want us to have to suffer the consequences of our wrongheaded behavior. He wants us to admit our wrong behavior is wrong, stop it, and turn back to decency. Then there will be healing in our homes, our schools, and halls of business.
But it will also incite people to buy Apple products to support Tim's coming out. And the gay population has, on average, more money than the heterosexual population...
Apple has always been a pro-gay company. Tim Cook being gay (which is nothing new, his sexuality was Silicon Valley's worst kept secret) does not change anything.
Apple will do fine even if a few bigots boycott. Where are they going to go? Android? Windows? Both Google and Microsoft have come out in favor of equality. The bigots will either have to bite the bullet and use a pro-gay company or go use technology from the same stone age where their beliefs come from.
