My app says "processing" and the website says "order in progress". I assume those are interchangeable.

When did you preorder? I ordered right at 12:01 and my order is in progress as well.

I ordered at 12:02PST.

I wouldn't be surprised if I don't see a status change before Mon-Tues. As the delivery info says "delivers: 22 Sept 2017, by Next Day Shipping". I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that means there is already a lot state side waiting for distribution. As coming from China, then through border customs would take at least two or three days. Even by air.

tl;dr I got bored waiting for a status change, and started day dreaming scenarios

I've thought about this, too. A similar thing happened with my MBP last year. Once I received the shipping notification, it arrived way too quick to have originated in China, must have already been stateside!

Weird. Just got another citizens loan approval email with the same number as the one from 10:30am this morning, 20 mins ago. Lol. Status hasnt changed.

I wasn't sure what I was doing, so I didn't drcide till 1130am Pacific to order a 256G 8 Plus in Gold. Then a half hour later my wife said she wanted one too, so I ordered a 256G 8 Plus in silver for her. For both, Apple gave me the option to pick up in store on launch day. Like many here have already said, easiest preorder expeiencw to date.

I just wasn't ready to give up my Touch ID yet. I'm also not ready to see screen burn in that's pretty common with OLED. Also, the X preorder is going to be the biggest fiasco and the phone itself is gonna have plenty of "fill in the blank - gate" type issues.

For those who ordered online for in-store pick up, it will stay Order in Progress till Thursday then it will change to "Ready for Pick up" on Friday.

I'm wondering if stores already have stock. My reasoning is that I've always preordered and had it shipped and my card gets the initial hold charge within an hour. This time I'm picking up in store and no charges.

Does anyone know if the Apple Online Store would let you select/favourite your model before orders went live for the 8/8+ yesterday? And if so, was the “buy without carrier” option there at that point?

I’m just looking at the process for the X where it’s not there yet and I’m wondering if it only appears when pre-orders go live.

Yep, and the SIM-free option was available for the 8 and 8 Plus before the pre-order launched. Doesn't appear to be the same for the X.

Aw, that sucks. I was trying to figure out how to buy it in America for use in the UK and once I add on the T-Mobile unlocking fee for post-paid etc. it’s probably not worth worth buying while I’m there.

Right, let’s see whether I can extend my trade-in price for a little longer and avoid using the android phone that’s lying in a drawer...

Thank though!

Who knows, though? Maybe that will change before pre-order. There's still a whole month yet, after all!

Preparing for shipment.

Can I pay with Apple gift cards and sign up for the IUP to lower the monthly costs? What if I use the gift cards and try to use ATT Next through Apple.com? Will that work too? I have about $600 in gift cards I would like to use to lower my payments.

I know if you go through the Apple Store and use the ATT Next option, it will allow you to make a down payment to apply towards the price of the device. Don't know if you can use gift cards, or multiples of them.

I choose in-store pick up and they put a temp auth charge on my card. Stores don't have them yet but I think they get some sort of pre inventory list of amount they would get. Apple.com shows some model available for pick up and some stores says "Currently Unavailable" meaning they are keeping some stock reserved for walk ins.

please what's difference between Preparing for Dispatch and Preparing to Ship?
I guess it depends. I think in U.S we call it Preparing for shipment. I think Canada and UK uses the "Dispatch"? It's the same thing though.

is anyone seeing their phones on the support profile yet? I've been checking since mine changed to preparing for shipment and it still isn't there yet.
