Naw...we do this every year. Get them the tracking details before they leave China.
Tracking numbers can be found by doing a search by reference from you shipper (ups or FedEx)
Just depends on the reference numbers the shipper is using.
We have had luck with
-the order numbers - minus the last two digits
-phone number for the phone or the phone on the shipper address.
For Fedex Reference, it has always been my phone number for me that I'm able to locate the tracking number. But right now nothing shows up.

Maybe your cc did not went through successfully, usually apple sends conf emal right away after order. You should call them, keep order number with you

does anyone know if the Apple Store updates the pick up orders to preparing for shipment or just say on the day before its ready for pickup, I'm the first slot at my Apple Store to pick up a iPhone 8 plus 256gb exactly at 8am on launch day
I just get the support redirect as well, and the list of my devices on the Apple Store page are just the ones associated with my Apple ID. Bummer.

I don’t think so. At the bottom it says “Not seeing your device” login to Apple ID account. Once logged in under devices it is says these are the devices your Apple ID are logged into. Leading me to believe the first page are not just ones associated with your Apple ID but all serial numbers associated with your account.
Well, good news is my Apple Watch that updated yesterday to Preparing for Shipment, is now shipped and headed from China - others in the Watch thread are posting to. Can confirm my phone number and order number MINUS the last 2 digits is in the reference number fields. Hopefully the phones will be getting shipped soon!
(Also, fun fact, UPS' original arrival date for these based off of speed, time, and their contract for delivery promise states it would get here Tuesday. Damn Apple for working with UPS to hold the delivery till launch! )

Just looked at my UPS My Choice dashboard... I now have a shipment that's "Order Processed: Ready for UPS" due on 9/22

You can't get this information until it ships. Unless they are coming from China and aren't already stateside, they won't be shipping till the end of this week.
I ordered at 12:02 PST and I'm still on order in progress. Not sure if they'll ship the iUP ones in a separate batch as they need to have the return boxes with them too but this could be the case
I ordered my 8 Plus at 12:02 as well. It just says preparing your order for shipment with a 9/22 delivery date.

Maybe conf email went into your spam folder, check it when you get chance. Also sometimes calling them is beneficial because of this inconvenience they may give you free expedited shipping if you don't already have one. I read positive stories here about inquiring from apple over the phone. But its your call, if something bad happens plz forgive me and share your story here. Lol
Same here. Ordered the exact same time as you with iUP and still have “Order in Progress”. I’m assuming we’ll be fine for delivery on the 22nd.
Maybe they’re waiting for the iPhone Trade-in Kits? Probably has to be bundled with the iPhone 8/8+ before arriving at our front doors this Friday. Just speculating
