I am thinking “standard shipping” means that your iPhone is coming from China and “next day shipping” means it’s already here.

I have a gold 8 that is standard shipping and a silver 8+ that is next day shipping.

Only one delivery is showing in ups my choice and it’s coming from Shanghai (Protek). I’m betting it’s the 8 via standard shipping.

Ordered 8+, Space Gray 256. Now I am wondering two things:

1. Should I get the silver, despite the white bezels?
2. Do I really need 256, since I am only currently using 30GB, and don't anticipate making tons of videos. 64 seems more logical.

Don't let yourself second guess yourself! :) always makes it too stressful. I have an 8+ 256GB space grey coming too. I too have asked the same question. I'm sticking with the 8+ space grey 256. It's always nice having space just in case. I've always preferred black iPhones in the past. And I'm only using 21gb of my 128gb.

But in the end you gotta do what you want. If your preorder is already in I'd say keep it. :)

To confirm that, if you have MyChoice, look at the reference number and compare it to your order. It will likely have the Web order number (starts with W). That’s how I could tell the one that appeared last night was my watch and not the iPhone.

You can't get this information until it ships. Unless they are coming from China and aren't already stateside, they won't be shipping till the end of this week.
Apple takes incredibly long to post the tracking info to their website - often 2-3 days later than the actual ship date. That doesn’t mean it hasn’t already shipped, and we have found every year that this is the case.

If you have FedEx Delivery Manager or UPS myChoice you can easily see when the package is destined to you since it automatically aggravates packages in your name. Otherwise we search by references, like phone numbers or order numbers, and find the tracking that way. In fact, my Apple Watch is in Shanghai but Apple still says PFS ;)

The new codec reduces the videos and photos sizes.

I just found my tracking number on UPS by looking up my phone number when tracking by reference. It says the package is "WORLD EASE" though. not sure what that means lol. It didn't show up on my UPS myChoice because I'm having it delivered to my work.

Got my tracking number off UPS My Choice

Mine is there as well. Says UPS Worldwide Express Saver from 'TECH-FULL COMPUTER CHANGSHU CO., LTD SUZHOU CN" and arrival scan at 12:01AM Shanghai, CN.

Ordered the 8 Plus Verizon in Space Gray at 12:04AM.

So while it’s preparing for shipment no tracking number is provided. Will they provide one once it is marked as shipped?

did yours say next day air or standard delivey on your order?

I was expecting mine to change from a preparing your order for shipment to a shipped status when I woke up this morning. It does say next day shipping with a delivers september 22 so I guess I need to relax and not think about it. First time I’ve done this so I want to make sure it comes the 22nd as I’m going on a vacation the next day.

Oh ok. Is it FedEx? I’m in Seattle. Just curious. I assume if next day it’s early delivery not late in the day.

Definitely the case for anything I've ordered next day. You can pay like $20-$30 more for early morning delivery on top of that too for a specific time.

It’s UPS’ solution to mass international shipments, grouping them together to allow for cheaper processing, time-guaranteed processing and customs clearance.
