Ugh. Apple site still shows “preparing for shipment” with a 10/23 delivery. I found the tracking number by using my phone number as reference. It shows that it is expected to deliver Friday, but it’s still in China! I mean realistically, how fast can it get her if it started moving right this minute?
Also, if I look at the info on the UPS app with My Choice, it shows an “exception” it doesn’t tell me what the exception is, and I don’t see it if I look at the tracking info on the UPS website.

I think everyone’s order still shows “preparing for shipment” on Apple’s website. You’ll get it Friday if it says you’ll get it Friday.

It can move very quickly.

My fiancée’s phone left China at 5:50am 10/20 and landed in Alaska at 8:08pm 10/19. From there it’s a 5 hour flight to Louisville, then to its final destination. It can get to you within 24 hours of leaving China thanks to time zones.

But if you ordered a Verizon phone from Apple, it will already have the SIM installed, correct? That's what a Verizon rep confirmed with me.

I also had a $20 charge when ordering from Apple: "One-Time Verizon Upgrade Charge"

I dont have 5g in my area so i will probably just swap my old sim to the new phone.

Package. Enter your phone number for the reference number.

just click on the track by reference on the UPS site and then search by either phone number or your order number missing the last digit (W1234567890 would be W123456789)

Ha, UPS is still saying I’ll get it today despite the last scan being in Alaska. I’m thinking no.

My case, power brick, and mag safe charger all came earlier than I expected. At least I’ll be ready.

Figured it out, finally got it showing up in My Choice here in Canada, though a bit different than those of you in the US.

Correct, the only carrier explicitly requiring new SIM cards is Verizon to ensure proper 5G provisioning per their support article on activating the iPhone 12's.

Do you have a link to this? There are people on Reddit claiming that you don’t need a new sim. One called and one visited the store and in both cases they said a new sim is not needed to work with 5G on iPhone 12

I’m only concerned because I have my plan with a family member. It will be of a work to ask them to request one for me.

I just realized I ordered two phones, the app was ****ed up when I was ordering so I started a new order. It charged me for the second one today and I now have two PB iPhone 12 Pro on their way arriving Friday.

You lucky son of a biscuit... getting 2 phones on 10/23! LOL. No but really, that kind of sucks. Good luck off loading it... Or you can just return it. I'd buy it from you if I could get it from you before by 10/29/2020 - I'm going away the weekend of 10/30/2020 - 11/02/2020 and my delivery window is 10/30/20-11/4/20. My luck with preorders sucks butt.

I would do the exact same thing, but having switched off Verizon less than two weeks ago, I think my sim card adequately new.

I have ATT and have always just swapped my SIM card into the new phone. I called ATT earlier this week and they told me that I didn’t need a new one unless the old one wasn’t working.

Anyone here in the "I got screwed over by the website gang and just hoping I get an earlier quoted time than November crew?"
I find it very interesting how apple says they have everything to complete my order yet they refuse to prepare it to ship. As a first time iphone customer this whole waiting game has been incredibly unsatisfying. All my other apple items I received 4-7 days ahead of schedule. I am just hoping this doesn't drag out into November because I really wanted to capture the fall colors with my new phone.

Take a deep breath. Whatever UPS says will be when you will receive it. Maybe you didn’t pull the trigger fast enough?
