I think it all comes down to a personal preference. I’m very used to the Max models that’s probably why. Some people love the MINI but that is not for me. It’s all about what user experience you want out of it. Another good thing about the PM version is the Camera and Battery itself.
Yep, it’s all about user preference. I envy those who know their preferences lol. I’ll keep my options open and in the meanwhile see other folks’ reactions and reviews. Enjoy the 12 for now and the pm in ~3 weeks.
 
Same here - 11/3-11/6 window moved up - just received notice from UPS and Apple.
Notice "STANDARD DELIVERY" ? How come we get step child service ???
Everyone else who got theirs on launch day got "EXPRESS INTERNATIONAL" delivery...

Has anyone’s phones ever been lost in a UPS warehouse? Just trying to get an idea how long this is going to take if they have to refund etc.
 
I was worried about this. Im on an X, and went with the regular 12 because its lighter, and I love the real black color. Not worth the extra weight and minor camera differences to me to have the pro

I’m going to look at the 12 today in the store and decide.

I chose 12 for the lightness as well. But the screen is so long. 😆Apple should have kept it 5.8".
 
My phone has finally moved to shipped status! Delivery date is estimated to be Friday 10/30. I have the slimmest chance on the planet it’ll arrive a day early but I pray to all that is mighty that it does. We leave early Friday morning and I’d so appreciate not having to miss it. SIGH

Or have my husband hella mad at me for making us wait for it instead of driving first thing to Tahoe. LMAO!!

Can you pick it up at your CC on your way on Friday?
 
12Pro ordered at 8:04 EDT, showed 11/03-11/06 delivery, shipped overnight, UPS says delivery on 10/27, Apple on 10/30.

Hopefully it will get here on Tuesday. Right now it is in ZZ.

Did anyone trade in their phone on the iup in an Apple store today? I was wondering if Apple is taking the old phone in store like they did last year, or if they’re having all customers return by UPS/Fedex. I liked doing the exchange in store because I knew it was completed rather than sweat how long the trade would take to complete. Some have had difficulty with that process in prior years.

For those of you with delayed orders, I can share a crazy story that shows it can always be worse.

A few years back I pre-ordered the 7 Plus and it was scheduled to arrive on launch day. This was the first iPhone to feature lightning earbuds and no 3.5mm headphone port.

I pre-ordered through AT&T and was eagerly awaiting the Fedex delivery on the Friday launch day afternoon. Finally it came and FedEx left the package on my front porch and took off very quick before I could unlock the door.

The pic below is how I found the box on my door step, clearly opened. The iPhone box plastic had been unwrapped and removed, but left in the shipping box, and the actual iPhone and lightning earphones were gone and stolen from the package. The iPhone box was replaced in the shipping box. I still to this day don’t know why a FedEx driver would deliver that clearly opened package unless he was one stealing the iPhone.

So now I had an iPhone that AT&T recorded as delivered by FedEx on a 2 year installment payment plan with no actual iPhone and earphones. I called AT&T to explain the situation and reported the IMEI # on the iPhone as stolen so it could not be activated by anyone else in the US.

FedEx was no help and wouldn’t even let me file a claim, the police said there was no point in completing a police report.

Long story short, I spent at least 2 hours a day over the next 10 days on the phone with AT&T support trying to convince them the phone was stolen and to cancel my installment payment contract with AT&T.

Finally they did release me out of the contract and I was able to go to the Apple store and buy an iPhone 7+ Once I could find one in stock a few weeks later.
Since then I have never ordered an iPhone directly from AT&T only buying them from Apple. Also I much prefer UPS and fear FedEx for shipping.

Now I’m taking advantage of that $800 deal with AT&T And have to ship my old iPhone into them for a trade-in under the deal. At least it’s shipping via UPS ;).

Unfortunately not since the Customer Centers have a limited hours from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

I've got a plan. If the phone is delivered by the 28th (as estimated by UPS My Choice info) or the 29th it should work out since my husband or I will be home. The 28th window is 12:30-5:30 p.m. (though I'm aware that those hours may or may not be accurate) so even if it fails to come that day I've got the 29th. My younger brother can come on the 30th in the event things go horribly wrong and wait for it.

I'm scared to change the pick up to the CC due to their hours and my work schedule. I'm the only person in our office and it's hard for me to leave with no back up.

Anyway... I haven't had the best experience with UPS CC and I'm afraid of delaying my delivery date because my window is super slim. I can possibly have my husband go get it but if he gets the runaround he might lose it (he's not a patient man) and we all know how customer service goes.

Those who held at UPS CC - was it available the same day as the delivery shipment date? I read some folks having both great and awful experiences.

When I missed my UPS shipment of my iPhone X in 2017 I had it held at the hub and went the next day only to find it wasn't "ready" (24 hours to change) so I had to go back the next day. All of this interfering with my work hours (back then they opened at 8 or 9 a.m.) of course. This was also late November so UPS was slammed with Christmas deliveries - and let's be real... with the pandemic their volumes are higher even before Christmas!

If it just comes to my house on the 28th or 29th I'm solid. I spoke to my local UPS driver when he delivered my MagSafe case and he told me he would leave the package behind my front house pillar if I wasn't home. No guarantee it'll be him though. LOL.

I'm doing in-store pick up next time to avoid this mess/stress! Or making sure I don't travel anywhere near launch/shipment date.

@wheathin your delivery story makes my iPhone X story feel like a walk in the park. I'm sorry that happened!
 
My 11ProMax was lost for about 8-10 days. I went and picked up a new one at the store and just cancelled it.
Thank you. If it draws out that long I’m just gonna order a pro max. Let’s see what early next week brings if they can find the phone.

I was extremely annoyed. My husbands phone was delivered on release day and mine was lost in the warehouse. UPS kept telling me that it would be delivered the next day, but it never showed up. I had it changed to a UPS center delivery and still no phone. I fi9nally went to the Apple Store and got another one. About a week later I got notified that the phone was ready for pick up. I had spend hours on the phone trying to get this straightened out. After it was ready for pickup I called again and was told just don't pick it up. I never did and that was the end, but it sure was a pain at the time. This time I completely forgot to order 1 of our phones so ordered it late. We just got charged for it late last night. I'm assuming it will arrive a little earlier than promised, but we shall see. I'm waiting to order a ProMax next week for myself. Hopefully that one will come on time.

Same exact issue for me. Apple support and UPS support are not helpful, just saying, and I quote:

Your order for the iPhone 12 Pro is still being delivered and may arrive to your doorsteps between October 23 - 24, 2020.
Once your order has been handed over to the carrier for delivery, you will receive a shipment notification email with an estimated delivery date. This is automatically calculated based on distance from the warehouse location to your address.
Delivery will take 1-3 business days after the order has shipped. All delivery lead times are estimated.

LOL no sh*t thanks, it shipped 10/18 so its already 5 days later.

and Apple said contact them back if I don’t receive my package within 3 business days after the scheduled delivery date.

UPS’ stupid AI chat bot and phone support bot didn’t let me talk to a person, and the UPSHelp twitter team didn’t give me any helpful answers either.

I set up a pickup at UPS location this morning to see if that would change anything, so far nothing and my request is pending.

This lady ask the T-Mobile CEO “how many 5G iPhones has T-Mobile sold?” This was the day before preorders so he said none. She goes “well Samsung has had 5G iPhones for a while right” 🤦‍♂️

This week you should get an update with a tracking number once it ships.
Mine changed from processing to shipped this morning after it sat in processing since 10/16.
