I thought I read that they do NOT require a signature due to COVID. My watch did not require a signature.
Same no signature for watch. Past 2 years I have picked up my phone at UPS because I can get it 9 AM rather 2 or 3 in the afternoon ( I do YouTube so I like to get the video up as soon as possible.)

Mine is same boat with you ...
Mine is pending. That usually just verifies funds before they go to ship it and you will see it drop off and the actual charge at the time if shipment. Depends on your bank for that stuff.

Ordered as soon as the Apple Store app would allow me to (I think at 7:04 CDT).

12 Pro 128 GB Pacific Blue

As soon as I double clicked the side button to process Apple Pay, I saw the fatal mistake.. the shipping address was set to a prior address.

I was given an October 23rd date. Panicked, I immediately messaged Apple support. After an hour, I got through and the specialist told me my order wasn't showing up in the system yet and to try again later.

I was obsessively checking order status to see if I could change the delivery address and it kept saying I had to wait several hours to edit/cancel my order. It finally let me cancel/edit, but NOT my delivery address. :(

Then, I noticed my card was charged... I tried contacting support again multiple times through iMessage (with no luck) and calling (with no luck). Last resort was logging in and chatting via my laptop. After trying to access support multiple times, I somehow found a way to specialist and was connected within minutes!

This saint of a specialist was able to change the delivery address and keep my original October 23rd delivery date.

What a rollercoaster.
Wow. Awesome that it worked out after all the efforts you made—well done.

If you sign up for free "UPS My Choice" you will have access to UPS "Follow my Delivery" which lets you follow the UPS delivery truck on the day of any delivery.

I love this feature!

I have used the Follow My Delivery but I’ve seen where it didn’t work on Apple Launch days before, likely cause Apple or UPS didn’t want people stalking the trucks.

Haha. Yep that’s the one! I love that mall. Yea it is the first store. I also always find it weird they don’t have something special for it.

Me too love that mall and area. I haven't been to that Apple store for an iphone launch but always thought that it would have been crazy. Surprised that they still had 12 pros left for pre order this late in the day.

I assume we are shipping directly from China?
Waiting to see that as well. Apple Watch was directly from the US so maybe the iPhone will be to. Makes sense they might already have them in the US to avoid possible export and import delays with COVID and such.

hmm hadn’t really thought about the fact that it may be hard for them to get stuff in time from over seas with COVID. Will be interesting to see where they come from.

It can also be somewhat maddening as you see the crazy route the UPS truck takes to your house that involves being a block away... and then driving to the other side of town multiple times throughout the day ?.

Wasn’t there a story recently about Apple gearing up to ship some iphone orders from a number of their retail stores? I’m interested to see if they do this. Might make some people panic if Apple doesn’t get tracking info out until they day before launch.

Like you, I have my order held for pickup at the UPS CC so that I can get it early without waiting a long time for the driver to get to my house.

Apple had a promotion of 24 month 0 percent if you use your Apple Card for purchase, it allowed me to prepare ahead of time or the 12 pro, witch made check out a breeze. Then they allowed me to bundle my Apple Watch 6 , AirPod pros , plus accessories for everything all with the 24 month plan.. I don’t use my Apple Card for much , so I went this route , once it all clears I can Pay it off.. I did this only because it allowed me to move through check out with 1 click.. can’t wait , everything is preparing to ship except the 12 pro of course.

Got my 128gb Blue 12 Pro order through about 5 minutes after the app opened, and a delivery date of 26/10 (Australia). Apple have now charged my card so I’m expecting it to change through to shipped sometime over the weekend. This is going exactly like it has for every preorder I’ve done. I do expect it to arrive on launch day...watch this space.....

I can tell which of two UPS drivers is making my delivery. One stops at my house while passing on the other side of the street. The other driver drives past my house, does part of another town, and hits my house on his way back - an hour later.

Pacific Blue, Verizon, 256gb. Ordered via the app. My app didn’t load until 5:03am but since I had done all the preapproval stuff it went in a flash. Got 10/23 delivery. My card was just charged.

They have a LOT of stock - if you look at the Pro the only order delivery date not in the first week is the Pacific Blue.

not sure if anyone else is seeing this, but i ordered right at 7am CT this morning (ended up being like 7:03 once the app loaded successfully) and placed my order and it showed a delivery date of october 23rd when i placed the order. i checked the apple store app just now and now its saying October 30th-Nov 6th. Anyone else experience this? I chatted with apple and the person told me that its because its "standard shipping" even though I confirmed with him that everyone is standard shipping and there is no way to pay for expedited shipping during a product launch. So I am curious if anyone else experienced this.

Ordered the iPhone 12 Pro in Gold, 256GB. I checked availability at an Apple Store in a mall I sometimes go to, and it was available for pickup. I’m honestly not expecting it to be in stock on October 23, but I’ll see. Waiting for the email when it’s ready.

Yep, I read about it last week. Here's one from The Verge (https://www.theverge.com/2020/10/9/21509992/apple-store-ship-devices-directly-faster-iphone). It'll be interesting to see what happens this year. I won't be able to track my iPhone anyway since I'm picking up in store this year again (don't want to wait for UPS and need the exercise).

Honestly, I dont see why people have to wait a week to get a phone for years. Just start shipping orders. Whoever pre ordered Friday should ship out that same day and delivered by Monday. The watches were pre ordered event day and available that Friday. Apple like to keep people waiting after spending 1k on a phone.
