So I’m too busy to read 80 pages. First time ordering via Apple. When it says Oct 30-Nov 6, is that absolutely the case or is there a chance Apple is under promising?

Absolutely not. I've more than once received my phone sooner than they estimated.

I wish. The App wasn't working, So I hopped on my PC and got a date later then yours.
Hey everyone! So today I went onto the apple store app. Over here in the UK you couldn't preorder until about 1.05. I had done the finance option, so my phone was already selected, I just had to checkout. Well, whenever I hit that checkout button, the apple store app kept saying it was running into problems. Eventually at about half 1, I managed to get the order through. So I have the 12Pro in blue, 128gb. It says it is coming between November 2nd and November 9th. It's the first time i've preordered on launch day through apple's website. I wonder if there will be any chance that the phone might arrive before then? That'd be cool!
I often find that Apple underpromises and over delivers. Not sure about UK but I think that you have a good chance of receiving your phone earlier than November. I hope so.

This is a first. Ordered phone for wife and me along with clear cases. The cases shipped with a Sunday delivery date via Fed Ex. Interesting to say the least. I’m in Texas.

My order process was a disaster. Tried to order 11pm on the dot (Melb, Aus) via the store app and had nothing but issues. Wound up placing an order through safari and my email confirmation said expected date 11-16 Nov.

Checked this morning, if I place an order now I would get 4-10 November. Very strange. Anywho, cancelled my original order and placed a new one with the slightly earlier date.

Honestly, I dont see why people have to wait a week to get a phone for years. Just start shipping orders. Whoever pre ordered Friday should ship out that same day and delivered by Monday. The watches were pre ordered event day and available that Friday. Apple like to keep people waiting after spending 1k on a phone.

You don't get to be worth a few trillion by not doing everything (almost) perfectly. If Apple had enough phones ready to ship on order date believe me they would. They are timing this to perfection anticipating the demand and building supply. Those few days between ordering and shipping allows then to build thousands of phone.

For the who successfully ordered today any advice for those ordering in 3 weeks? I have a XS Max so it's been a few years since I woke up at midnight (Los Angeles time) to order (why have they changed to 5 AM LA time?). Basically the same process I guess? Any advice is appreciated....

Make sure your info on Apple website (or  Store app) is up to date.

Create a favorite our your preferred variant the night before, and save it to your “Favorites” for easy access the next day.

Force Close the app 1-2 minutes before the 8AM EST pre-order window.

Have a backup device (if possible) so you can quickly switch if first device acts up.

Build your phone and Favorite it for quick access when orders go live. By build I mean pick model, size, color and payment option and then hit the heart. So when they go live you can just pickup where you left off. Also have payment method updated and refresh Apple store app on as many devices as you can. My iPad took 10 mins to get in, meanwhile my phone app loaded in 20 seconds after launch

I got a notification saying my iPhone 12 case is ready to pick up, so here it is! It has just the slightest lip to it, but I’m pretty sure the magnet is what will hold the phone in place. One pic shows my iPhone X in the case.

Depends on the carrier Apple uses in your country/region, but for high value items, they’re usually not allowed to leave. No signature for obvious reasons but they will need to hand over in person. I’d choose alternative date as first option or have it held and pick it up if you’re comfortable with that.
If you can leave a note for them to leave it in a safe place, you can pre-sign for it instead of in person usually

nice! I’ve always bought the leather case, but had to opt for silicone this time around Since leather isn’t available yet. How is this different from previous silicone cases? Looks like they added protection around the bottom?
