I've got the 2:10 AM Arrival scan on my tracking. Was looking to set it up for pick up at my local CC this morning but it appears the CC is not an option for me this year. It just doesn't show up on the list. So now I am debating sending it to a local UPS store but I am wondering if anyone has experience with that. Sometimes I think I've seen that it delays your shipment date by a day. Anyone with experience?

No no no no. Unless you want to get it Monday. The fact you're on this thread tells me you don't.

My situation over here...I ordered a sim free 256 Silver Xs Max at 6am pst on Friday. I had ordered a T-Mo version at 7 past midnight but it had a Sept 28 - Oct 5th delivery window. So when I woke up in the AM and saw there were sim free units available for delivery or pick up in the 21st I cancelled my order and placed a new one. Then later in the day I ordered an Apple silicone case to go with it.

Now my silicone case shows as shipped with a delivery estimate of tomorrow, but when I try and track the shipment through the Apple store app it takes me to the UPS site and the tracking number is not found. When I use my phone number as a reference for my iPhone order on UPS it comes up with the 2:10 Zhengzhou arrival time. So many mixed messages!

I don’t know what my point is other than logistics are a crazy thing and not meant to be looked at by obsessive like us. We’re definitely the edge cases for this, but I think we’re having the most fun. So anyone who is worrie should just sit back, relax, chat here, and watch all the info fly by because you will get your phone on Friday.

Tried again to change delivery and I got an error message saying that this package is unable to request a delivery change. I wonder if UPS is trying to stop letting iphones get picked up at CC's on delivery day because of the headache it creates?

Yes I agree with your last paragraph. Today I will just enjoy my X for a bit longer, install iOS 12 on it and my iPad Pro, Update my Mac to new OS, and sit back and enjoy the wait. Logistics is indeed hard to follow buy us obsessed apple nerds but I have learned a lot about the logistics, how UPS and Fedex work (online info, and observing my deliveries of iPhones over the last few years). Always indeed fun to chat and I seem to learn a bit more each year.

Might make sense why they aren't letting me pick the CC near me at all.

If you want it Friday, don't have it held at a UPS Store: the likelihood is that you won't get it until Monday. If it can't go to a CC, just let it be delivered to your home if you want it on launch day.

Doing Store Pickup on Friday. I have a question, should I increase Apple Care to include loss/Theft? I am imagining in store I should be able to do so as needed. I have never had an iPhone stolen but given the price of the phone is more than I ever spent, I am not sure if it is worth the cost.
I got the loss/ theft. Worth it and costs less if you pay in one payment

What's the difference in having my package held at a UPS store vs Customer Center?

UPS Stores typically end up being one of the last stops for the day, and you could see the tracking page delay your delivery date by a day or two. CC is their "warehouse/hub" where packages get sorted for your local area, so your package will typically be available first thing in the morning.

I've picked up my last 2-3 phones at the CC - small line in the morning before they open up at 8am, otherwise smooth. I just changed my order to CC pickup.

UPS Customer Centers are found on-site at UPS operating distribution centers, while a UPS Store are separate retail locations. Your package will arrive at the local distribution center first and then be delivered by truck to the UPS Store. So it will be quicker to pick up at Customer Center, if one is local to you.

Thanks, the store is 2mi away while the CC is 4mi, so I'll set it up for CC pickup now.

Well, looks like the CC by my house won't open till 10am so I'll just stick with the standard delivery.

Does anyone have a clue on departure date?
My guess would be that we will see some movement to Korea tonight (Tuesday China time) and then on a flight to Alaska tomorrow night (Wednesday China/Korea time)

Our phones are on the same palette it looks like!!
