Apple store app came up for me around 2:01:30 central and I pressed the buttons and got September 21 delivery. Got the email a minute later. Got a charge about 3 hours ago for $93ish dollars on my Amex

I was IN and OUT!! Check that email delivery time.

The pay systems are different. Initial charges come from your saved card with Apple and the monthly charges will come from whatever card you have with Cit1.
Is this normal too I reported this to apple since my order in progress?

If you knew, you should have called it a hold.
It was in response to a post that said, “My credit card was just charged for the full amount :eek:so maybe expand your terminology policing or don’t sweat it.

In the past, these charges — wait, holds — moved from temporary authorizations to actual charges before being dropped and reapplied, so the distinction isn’t particularly helpful.

PSA, again if you are ordering a carrier version (not sim-free) via Apple's site check in-store pickup for your zip!!!

I just clicked through the Tmo and ATT at 8:45am and so far and MANY configs are still available for launch day pickup; despite shipping estimates "1-2 weeks."

I ordered the sim free iPhone Xs Max. Is there any difference between this and the T-Mobile version? Does Sim Free support all the bands from T-Mobile??

Rumor said the bezel is a little bit slimmer on the new iphone XS comparing to last year's X. Is this true or they are the same size.

Still lots of availability for the max model on launch day. I wonder if this will be the lowest pre-order.
I can’t remember when a pre-order was still available for launch day so late in the morning.

Nevertheless it makes sense. People are upgrading less, keeping devices longer. Their only route to maintain their revenue is to increase prices.

I've been working on improving my credit for a couple years now, and I finally got approved for the iPhone Upgrade Program! The whole pre-approved process was so easy yesterday afternoon, and when my alarm went off for 2:59am, the checkout process was SO EAASY! Essentially, 5 screen presses!

I think it's fewer sales. My evidence is anecdotal so take it with a grain of salt, but... everyone I know with an iphone x is not upgrading, most expensive iphone lineup so far, also one of the least impressive feature updates yet.

Yep. I’m a yearly upgraded and the Xs is too similar to the X for me to upgrades

Honestly I am only upgrading because the Xs Max is the iPhone I wanted when I bought my X, coming from a 6 Plus.

Now I won't have to upgrade for a few years. Seemsgood.

Well looks like I've had some luck. My original order had slipped to Sep 28- Oct 5 but I cancelled that order and managed to do in store pick up on launch day. Can't wait for my XS Max!

Apple finally has a pre-order that isn't a disaster due to supply issues and you conclude it must be a demand issue. Unreal.

The iPhone X had a bigger and higher quality display than your 6 Plus.

It might be better, but it isn’t bigger.

Not exactly. It's a taller display, but it's a much narrower display. That made the iPhone X feel like using a tall iPhone 6/7/8 phone rather than a 6 Plus/etc phone. To emphasize this, the iPhone X didn't even support two column landscape views or home screen rotation, as every Plus phone has. The iPhone XS Max is a "proper" iPhone Plus replacement.

agreed. The fact their rollout schedule was so fast and for months we have seen articles on increasing supply, i don't think it is a demand issue.

My pre-order went through around 3:10 am eastern. Got my email and everything right away. Still waiting for the status to switch to processing and waiting for my card to be charged.

I am surprised orders were available for Sim Free models next week, especially with the XS Max this morning. XR pre-order will be backorder central.

You’re actually both wrong. The X isn’t a smaller display than 6Plus nor is it “much narrower”. It’s much taller than 6Plus and only 0.052” thinner than 6+. So I’m all practical ways X is superior to 6Plus and 7Plus - even in size. The Max this year, in hand hold size, is identical to Plus phones - but it’s all screen!
