Because it’s 95% of the XS. Most people do not care about OLED. Also it is closer in size to the Max. Which is really what people like to show off. Also those colors are great. I want the blue one. But I am too much of a tech nerd to get it and hence I am stuck with a black XS.

I'm one of those longtime Apple fans who curmudgeonly kept his iPhone 5s because I lamented the loss of the headphone jack in future models. But then I realized I haven't used the headphone jack in probably 2 years now, so it was time for an upgrade. Really excited, this phone is going to be a huge change from the 5s I've been using for so many years now. I'm still not happy about the larger size (I think iPhone 4 was the best phone they ever made), but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Delivery date to my condo on Sept 21st.

I woke up late and ended up ordering my Gold Xs Max 64gb about 30 minuets late and got a delivery of September 28 - October 5th. Anyone think this could get moved up? and does anyone remember how long after pre-order day they started pushing up orders last year?

Ordered the Xs 256GB SG through the Apple app. The app opened at 12:03am. Order completed and got confirmation at 12:06am with delivery date the 21st.

this is the first time I got it this early and I really worked for it, lol! I set the alarm, favourited the iPhone I wanted beforehand and updated my payment method before preorders started.

LOL... Sim-Free has always been my choice. Sadly, the Sim-Free XS Max 512 in Gold is not available for store pickup; only the XS Gold 512 is. I wonder if I should go with that instead? I'm sure it's the excitement of pre-ordering. I may need to wait longer for XS Max availability.

I ordered my AT&T XS MAX silver 256gb through the Apple store. Went through at 3:05 am and got a delivery date of 9/21. I had to contact Apple @ 8am to change the shipping address and after I did that I still have a date of 9/21.

Hi all! Ordering was painless this year! All except for changing my mind lol. Went for the MAX at the last minute. Coming from an 8plus I was wanting to switch to the XS and smaller body (due to girly pockets and mini purses) but at the last minute I couldn’t pull the plug! I couldn’t resist that full screen. Good luck next week as all our devices (hopefully) arrive on time.

Same! I had filled in all the trade in info ahead of time "Does it work", etc...but it seems like they think I want a second phone instead of trading in my X for the Max. Hmmm.

It can vary but you could also check stores on launch day to see if it's available. As long as your order has not flipped to "Preparing to ship" you can cancel, contact your carrier to have them reset the upgrade (if necessary) and just get it in store. That's what I did last year.

Apple Upgrade Program iPhone Xs Max Space Grey 256GB ordered 2:02 CST confirmation email 2:04 CST. Still showing as "Order In Progress", but the have a pending charge for the Tax Amount already on my card. Looks like they are moving right along this year.
