How do you cancel an order that's being delivered? I have plenty of apple stores with pickup availability for today so I don't want to wait till Monday.
Same for me. I want to go to my Apple store today but I’m in the upgrade program.

UPS never delivered the phone yesterday. UPS still has no updates or useful information.

Contacted my credit card company and contested the $1500 charge. I can be a pain in the ass, too. :)
Contested how? If you reported it as fraud that’s illegal since you authorized the transaction. Have fun dealing with that after you receive the phone.

You will have to return the phone or exchange after you receive it

The percentage of people that successfully got their phones compared to the misdirected few is huge. As is typical of any experience-based feedback, the angry few make a lot of noise because they're angry (or felt 'entitled' to something) and make the problem seem disproportionally large. UPS likely has a SLA with Apple (and other major accounts) and I doubt there is a 100% delivery guarantee. It might be something like 99.8%. It will always suck to be in the unlucky 0.2% but no system is perfect.

I would not expect to see any action taken against UPS by Apple unless they violated the SLA.

While that’s true, that small percentage seems to be much more significant than previous releases. Of course any data to support that is anecdotal but my interactions with both Apple and UPS have been more forthright, transparent, and even exasperated than in previous years. And this leads to the point that this year the “don’t worry, scans don’t matter, UPS knows what they’re doing you’ll get it” has been not true for more people than ever. My local CC is helping orchestrate to get mine to me today and all have affirmed more following day deliveries and issues than ever before.

Wow. Both models are in plentiful supply at Apple stores today. Definitely NOT rare this year.

If you’re disappointed about not getting one delivered yesterday go buy one today and return the one you’re waiting for when it arrives.

If you've assigned your phone number to the phone to be delivered (also with a trade-in and buying on the installment upgrade program), I don't see how this works. Apple said I have to wait until it's delivered and then come into the store (in my case to get a different color).

If you did it on an upgrade or IUP you just gotta wait

Didn’t consider that. However, the apple staff is usually pretty magical. They might be able to get you going. Or just swap the SIM.

They can't just swap it the issue people are having is the phone they ordered has been used as an upgrade on their line already and they don't have it. So without a phone to return they can't just go to the store and purchase another phone on that same line.

Same. Has anyone successfully done this? Mine’s stuck in Zhengzhou and it’s available in many local apple stores.

You can if you buy sim-free which many of the stores by me have in stock.

I know that. But most people who used the IUP or bought connected to a carrier wanted to finance them most likely. If they can go drop $1,000 or $1,100 then that's an option but if they needed to use the financing they are stuck until theirs comes in.
[doublepost=1537640545][/doublepost]Wow just got my 44mm AW and even just going from 42mm to 44mm the slight size increase makes interacting with the watch and reading items on the screen much more enjoyable

If you’re eligible for the IUP and the configuration you want is in stock? Yes. You should be able to do it walk-in, in-store.
Yes Apple does IUP in store for all 4 carriers

Also try and reserve online. You will get a 30 minute pickup window and wait a lot less
