Honk Kong is a day ahead of us. The page just displays the scans in what it thinks is chronological order. It did not go from KY back to HK.

I would agree with you if the Hong Kong info had not just shown up. It was not there until an hour or so ago. UPS's tracking doesn't hide info until it's time relevant. So the Hong Kong addition is a new entry. It's just a clusterflub of strangeness, and to make matters worse, my old phone stopped working today. Looks like it's time to drive to the Apple Store to see what they have available. I will just return my pre-order I suppose.

I’ve been told that UPS doesn’t expect to see another scan on my phone until Monday at 10am. They’ve given me a 90% promise that I’ll be able to pick it up Monday morning when the Los Angeles hub opens. I told them I won’t believe anything until I have my phone in my hand.

But there has been plenty of squirreliness with UPS’s scans this go-round. For a couple of days, mine said this:

before eliminating the “trip back” to HK and AK from my tracking info on Friday morning.

The scans have to be wrong the time difference isn’t great enough for it to leave Louisville and get back to HK there’s no way

My guess is it thought the phone was with the first shipment but it wasn’t and the second set of scans are the actual phone being shipped

Spoke with UPS customer service who confirmed with me that even though the UPS tracking status says delivery by “End of Day” Saturday 9/22, the package will NOT be delivered today. She said there is no Saturday delivery service in Hawaii at all and whoever coded in the Saturday delivery “upgrade” in Louisville didn’t bother to see if that’s even an available option. No drivers, no deliveries.

Yeah.. this year has been interesting. Repeat AUP user and pre-qualified a few days before. Ordered a Max 256 in Silver.

Slept through the alarm for the pre-sale. Ordered at 7:30 am Pacific that morning. UPS says it won't be here until Weds. Last scan was a departure scan from Alaska last night.

All my stores in my area of Norther Los Angeles have it in stock.

I'll just have to wait to see when it appears again at UPS and if it comes sooner. Hope it does.. bummed that almost 8 hours meant waiting extra days when I could have walked into the store.

It's so frustating that I could get it today in the store but can't buy It because I've ordered one online, and that is now delayed in China for some reason....

Mine shows it arrived in KY on 9/21 and now shows it departed HK on 9/23. I guess they sent it back to make the trip again.

I was told the same thing. Hoping to pick mine up first thing Monday morning at the customer center by Lihue airport. Mine is currently in Honolulu

Glad I decided to pick one up in store today. My phone (which sat at customs until yesterday) had said In Transit at Louisville, for Monday. Now it shows Hong Kong (for the first time) with an unknown delivery date.

I returned my XS because I switched to T-Mobile from AT&T. The pre Order was for AT&T. So I went to the Apple store and tried out the XS Max and realized the size wasn’t so bad. Only problem is it is taking forever for my IUP to reset and allow me to reorder. It shows returned on Apple’s systems and the loan was closed out, yet it still says Upgrade pending. Uggghhhhhh

Time goes back when traveling from a Asia to North America.... HK date 9/22 NA date 09/21

Similar to time changes bet LA any NY travel...

That doesn’t explain why there was a departure scan from Alaska yesterday and no arrival scan anywhere else.

They can't just swap it the issue people are having is the phone they ordered has been used as an upgrade on their line already and they don't have it. So without a phone to return they can't just go to the store and purchase another phone on that same line.

Thx, Applereviews, exactly. I went to the store just to look at the gold in person to be sure that's what I now want (it is). I spoke to a team member who said I could come in and swap it once I receive mine next week -- if they had any in stock. Am hoping it will work with an immediate in-store reset of my eligibility/phone number. Also -- should I come prepared to hand over my 7 plus that I signed up for a trade-in or will they let me use the mail in kit (and 14 days)?

Same specs, ordered on the 16 and still in china. My order changed from 1-8 of October to 27th of September to Tuesday. But I doubt it will be Tuesday.

Hang in there, Natzoo!

I've been through lots of Apple pre-orders (iPhones, Watches, iPads, MacBooks Pro, iMacs) and the dithering-in-China-phase seems to take forever! But once your order goes through Anchorage it gets processed quickly and arrives at your door impressively fast.

And even if it takes an extra day, rest assured I'll be hanging out here with you on this forum, so you won't have to wait for your new iPhone all alone. We're in this long wait together, Brother Natzoo! :D

Frustrating wait and mistakes I know but I have spent some time today setting up and using my XS Max and can say loudly that it’s worth the wait. Well worth it. Honestly it’s the iPhone I’ve always wanted. Hang tight!
