Does it work with FaceID?
You know - that’s a very good question! Any bets?
What’s important is the APPLE cane through with yet another solution that’s just so obvious!
Does it work with FaceID?
Only here in the US 🙄
Trump weaponized mask wearing and gaslighted his low-education, low-information followers (approx 38% of adults) into believing COVID was “just a flu”. No need to wear a mask; look at those stupid Democratic governors taking away their state’s residents freedom by requiring mask wearing in public.
The Republican party for a few decades now has been anti-intellectual and anti-education in their policies. It’s essential if they are to maintain power against the backdrop of changing demographics that will have whites as the minority in the not so distant future.
Dumbing-down textbooks, promoting home schooling and “charter” schools (publicly-funded private schools) so kids aren’t taught sex education (abstinence only!); Darwin/natural selection, carbon-13 dating and dinosaurs and people living at the same time (the earth is only 5,000 years old, right?); eliminating civics (a waste of time!); and anything else that Republicans deemed too threatening to their future political viability.
Fast forward and Trump is the result, not the cause. He just took advantage of the ignorant and easily frightened—and a significant number of racist Americans.
You reap what you sow Republicans. You’ve destroyed your party and done major damage to the country that will take decades to repair.
If Trump told his followers the Apple clear mask gave you cancer, they’d believe him. Even if scientists tested—and the media were to widely report—that it was 100% eaffective against COVID-19.
That’s where we are, and it’s a sad state of affairs indeed.
In your compact mask pre-warmer..So where do I put my mask while I’m driving 7 minutes to work?
The whole problem right now regarding the face mask issue is that we were raised in an individualistic society that taught us that doing things for others that isn’t directly for our personal benefit is a sign of weakness. At the moment.
It hasn’t always been this way, and I feel for younger folks who have never known any different.
We’ve always had our problems, but every day now seems to bring us to a new low.
Research shows closing the border to China would have done zilch in preventing the spread of the virus. That’s just a Republican wet dream/fantasy talking point to get votes.Trump has doing amazing, the left didn’t wanna close the border at China because of racism, don’t understand why you can’t be thankful you have a great leader
So wrong. Apple is going portless with this year's mask. Hole free masks are the wave of the future. And, Le Gasp! No charger in the box! Horror beyond horror! Suck it up, buttercup.Requires a dongle to charge.
You trade them in or sell them on eBay afterwards.Article says that it can be washed up to 5 times. I’m guessing you’re supposed to recycle them after 5 uses.
A company also cannot easily buy those materials from the supply chain currently so there's that too. Thoughtful or accidental? 🤔
So retail for 24 masks is about $30 these days.... add Apple tax.... $100 for 12?
They may have the brand, but not the necessarily the quality, period (guessing made in China, on an existing mask line/company).I believe Apple has the strongest brand in the world. If this mask were available to the general public, it would be the best selling mask, period. The Apple brand stands for quality and attention to detail. We want this in our devices, but we need this in anything that relates to our health.
Seth Godin has a good comment on what having a “brand” means. He says that if the Hyatt hotel chain made a sneaker, we would have no idea what it would look like — but if Nike opened a hotel chain, we would a good idea what it would look like.
Interesting thoughts. Are you interested in facts?Trump has doing amazing, the left didn’t wanna close the border at China because of racism, don’t understand why you can’t be thankful you have a great leader
Just an hour ago, I popped in the Ace hardware store in West Bend Wi, where the country music was on good & loud and none of the staff were wearing any PPE, & on my way back out I got dirty looks from the employees (easily in their 60s/70s) before I heard one of them refer to me in the next aisle over as a “f’n commie” lol. If he only knew about my red bra & panties, oh my. When I left, I drove past three packed pubs, with no one going in or out wearing any protection, and as I sat at the light, got flipped off by a group of leather-clad yuppies gathered around their leaky harleys out front. I drive a Prius in rural Wisconsin. I am a magnet for these people, and there are a LOT of them. That these people don’t wear masks is about to be the least of the US’s problem with this state. What a sad state of affairs that mask wearing has to be put in the political section.
People, mask wearing is to protect your fellow humans regardless of race, creed, faith, beliefs, etc.
lol mine is post #93... you skipped through quite a few exhibit A’s before you got to mine 🤣Anyone wondering why this post is in the political section, this post is exhibit A![]()
Why is a discussion on face masks considered to be "political"? I think it is crazy that wearing or not wearing a face mask to reduce the spread of illness has become political.
Because there are lots of misinformed trolls that have made it that way.
Nothing in my OP labeled the political leanings of the people, including me, that I referred to as "trolls". Misinformation is not unique to one side or the other in anything these days. It's the nasty comments that are exchanged anytime there is a difference in opinion that get out of hand that I was referring to which, in context, is why MR has learned the value of labeling some topics as political.Yes, anyone challenging viewpoints or even going against agendas being pushed by left wing governments is labelled as a ‘troll’ these days.
Individualism is great. We should all do whatever we can to be self-reliant and not depend on others (or the government) to solve every problem. The whole problem right now regarding the face mask issue is that we were raised in an individualistic society that taught us that doing things for others that isn’t directly for our personal benefit is a sign of weakness.
Exactly. Dead on.Research shows closing the border to China would have done zilch in preventing the spread of the virus. That’s just a Republican wet dream/fantasy talking point to get votes.
Did you mean right-wing governments?Yes, anyone challenging viewpoints or even going against agendas being pushed by left wing governments is labelled as a ‘troll’ these days.
No, SRY, not you! I meant the other person that was quoted! 🤦🏼♂️ I edited my post to clarify. I actually agree with you. 😄 MB.Just because you disagree with me doesn’t mean I’m a troll lol.
I do have a way of triggering snowflakes though, don’t I? 🤣
No prob 🙂No, SRY, not you! I meant the other person that was quoted! 🤦🏼♂️ I edited my post to clarify. I actually agree with you. 😄 MB.
Thanks for being understanding. IMO, I agree with pretty much everything you said, though I deviate in that I think our challenge is to not stereotype. So, I personally try to say ‘most Republicans’, or something like ‘common Republican values’ because their are, indeed, some Repubs who spoke out, early on, about 45’s handling of COVID, and have wanted to work across the aisle. No prob 🙂
I’ll do a little cleanup.
I don’t think you quite understand how masks work. The surgical and cloth masks that most people wear aren’t for the wearer’s protection. They’re to prevent the wearer from spreading droplets. Reusing cloth masks you haven’t washed may be nasty, but it still serves its intended purpose. Not sure where you live but I am thankful I don't live there if health care workers
are reusing one time use masks or reusing fabric masks without washing.
I am guessing you are in the US.
