Thank You, Mister Cook, for eliminating the only small phone in your line up. The only Phone, that is not a ridiculous phablet.

I had no idea, that You zeroed out customer satisfaction.

And still no new mac mini. Apple just hit rock bottom.

Bozos all over the place.

Steve would have never allowed this.
American GREED

sad. no SE ;(

I totally agree. It was a great form factor and price point, especially for the kids. I think this is a miss for Apple

While I like my iPhone 7, my college aged boys ridicule me for its huge size. Fortunately, one needed his SE replaced under AppleCare two months ago, and the other got his new iPhone SE a few weeks ago. So they both should be set for a couple of years.

That's Jeff Williams, a strong contender to be the next CEO of Apple.
Actually his delivery today was the worst performance ever since taking the stage a few years ago . He was nervous and stuttering constantly with very little excitement. Something was definitely off about this whole keynote. The series 4 is a HUGE update delivered with little enthusiasm while Phil was up there wetting his pants over a very very very mediocre iPhone Update that costs more than a damn MacBook Pro for the EXCESS MAX.

And Sculley...gag

I kept him out of it as Apple had a few good years, and Jobs did make some flubs in the first go around. The Mac II, IIx, IIsi, SE and SE/30 were good units. Sculley reworked the software developer relationship which meant we wouldn't see so much Lotus Jazz or dBase Mac catastrophes. Apple Market share increased nicely, and engineering was mostly okay.

It was said that Jobs at the time didn't know how to make a billion dollar company into a ten billion dollar company. That was true on the first go around. Sculley didn't know how to make a 10 billion dollar company into a 100 billion dollar company, and Amelio and Spindler were too efficient at turning a 10 billion collar company into a one billion dollar copany.

Such absolute and horrible and ridiculous prices for a phone. Prices for the top of the line iPhone Xs Max is close to getting a top model MacBook Pro 13" with touch bar already. What is this world coming to?
Apple is the first out the door with 7nm chips at volume. They’ve just beat Intel at their own game. Those A12 chips have to cost a pretty penny.

There’s also been rumors here that they’re hedging on all the trade & tariff business going on... they may suddenly find themselves beat up on prices even more.

My friend has CP and small hands. They have an older iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 and uses the 5 10 x more because it works well for those who have disabilities.

I have a feeling that they will reintroduce a smaller form factor in the future.

I don’t understand why the iPhone X would not be supported by Apple and discontinued?
When it first released Apple’s suppliers were getting beat up over yields of components and scrapping a LOT of parts. They’ve had a whole year to reengineer all the quality and manufacturing hiccups out of the new models. Rumor is that the new one is going to be cheaper to make (ie more profitable because less rework). There’s no reason to keep making an old model, that’s had a lot of “training wheels” issues, and people would expect it to be $200 cheaper.

Who’s going to pay $899 for an X when XS is $999?

Waited too long to upgrade from my 4S:( I didn't buy the SE because I got strung along by SE2 rumors (probably started by Cook to rope us all into phablets). Luckily Amazon had one and I just ordered a "new" 64GB SE for $349. Love the "classic iPhone" form factor but I'm sure Apple will try to erode the SW infrastructure around the SE to STILL try and squeeze us. Not liking Apple management right now....

Look on Swappa for a new one, unopened box. There are cheaper ones on there.

Funny you should say this. I am now contemplating getting the new Samsung or Google Pixel. Or something similar.

This is the first time in many years I’ve thought about “switching”.

I thought about the switching idea for a bit but then decided I’m going to ride out my devices as long as I can. Both my iPhone SE and 10 have a ton of life left in them. Batteries are both in excellent condition. I am in no position to fork over another $1k for a phone again. Also got lucky with my iPhone SE. Grabbed it for $50, new.

Nope. snagged it at a Verizon store. Was a prepaid deal. They were running a special and I couldn’t say no to that. No regrets as it is my secondary device and it feels like new still on iOS 12. For a small phone, it’s a powerful beast. A lot underestimate it.

even discontinued, it will continue to be a sleeper hit :p

The cult iPhone. Design from another era, still making ends meet with its a9 and comparatively low res screen to power in 2018 (though I guess same ppi as Xr ;) )

I appreciate the small form factor that better fits in my pants and pockets. Not the small screen. I hope for the day Apple introduces a X with the SE outside dimensions.

Apple wants big giant phones that force you to buy the Apple watch for the small form factor. I'm not using an Apple watch even if it's free. I'll wear the same thing Captain America holds his shield to his back and slap the phablet back there, but no wristwatch for me.

The SE had a good run. A solid phone, 4 inch Form factor and great battery life. Ultimately, I was hoping it would be updated, because there is a demographic that really does appreciate the 4 inch smaller form factor, but it didn’t surprise me either that they decide to discontinue it.
Disappointed. Will they make a 4” case version if I do not buy current products?

The iPhoneX is now the Xs, which is predictable. However, I fail to see anything that might entice me to upgrade a phone that is only 10months old and which I really like. Anyone that wants a larger screen, I understand. However, to trade the X for the Xs would provide what benefits.......some nuanced enhancements with the camera, a better speaker (irrelevant if you use AirPods), new gold color, loss of 3D touch (HomeKit ??).....what am I missing?

Wait, no 3D Touch????

You can always buy a discontinued iPhone on Swappa. I buy all my devices from that site. I trust that site 100x more than any other marketplace.
Swappa is my go to site for Iphones, and Apple products. I upgraded an Ipad from Swappa. Last two Iphones I have gotten have been great second hand Iphones from Swappa.

…and that has nothing to do with his being a strong contender for Apple's next CEO.

He has Tim's old job, COO. At most companies, the COO is next in the chain of command should the CEO be away for an extended period of time, and it's not the worst assumption to make that the COO often has the right of first refusal should the CEO leave or be fired.

In any case, Tim's here to stay for quite some time.

Sony should now use this opportunity to promote their xz2 compact as an iPhone see replacement.
Sony isn’t even a player in this game.

Apple no longer sells an iPhone with a headphone jack...

And in other news I'm officially done with Apple.
So you’ll be back when Android follows suit (as many already have)?

The ergonomics of the SE are just perfect. Sad day.

It seems a lot of people these days want a giant smart phone to do everything. Fine, let them do that. But I own a laptop, a tv, and a portable games console (Switch); I don't need to compromise my phone to do the stuff those other devices do far better. I want a phone that's handy for consuming audio (so, a headphone jack) and for quickly getting out and interacting with with one hand (so, nothing larger than the current SE, since you've reached the limits of the average human's thumb).
