I don't care about your opinion and millions of others don't either. You can't pay me to switch to Android because it is pure garbage for me (and others). The only positive about this thread is that it's awesome less of you will be here at midnight preordering. I know I will.

At one point in time it was worth it staying in the Apple locked down egosystem. The technology far surpassed what other's were doing. Those times have long gone.. They are simply not an innovative company any more. Tricking those in to thinking, it's the latest, it's the best..

I watched just a summary of the nonsense yesterday, this clown on stage was talking about the new Watch. "I know you guys are worried about the battery life, but we are pleased to say, it hasn't changed.." What kind of spin is that?

Needless to say I switched to Android 2 years ago, and haven't looked back. Sure Android's messaging system needs some love, but everything else is a better experience. It's not locked down, it's not controlled. I don't live with a bag of dongles and I am free..

Well, i'm not only moving on, I've moved on. You should as well.

Nonsense talks. BTW what phone do you even have? I am very curious to know which company now you think is more innovative than Apple :D

I never even hear about anything new or great android has to offer  Its definitely less of a wall garden, but that also makes it very susceptible to malware. I will sacrifice customization for peace of mind.

Definitely share your feelings about yesterday though. I wasnt too moved overall. I was hoping the new watch would have improved battery on cellular, but either way, the cost for the phone and watch are too much to justify an upgrade for me this go round.

Yea sounds like an ad, why do people insist on doing that? I am not going to reiterate why I like the Apple ecosystem nor why I dislike Android, just wondering why people push others to justify their consumption habits.

What matters is the perspective from which you are viewing Apple. If you're a shareholder, Cook is your guy. Stock is up, and rising. However, if you are a consumer/customer, Apple has, IMO, indeed lost it's luster. They're killing off seemingly popular products (iPad mini, Mac mini, iPhone SE) and forcing thinness and lack of upgradability upon us, all the while introducing things like keyboards that don't work/last, and so on.

The stable of products it a large pile of "meh" with a few interesting items thrown in. I am particularly troubled by the technical issues and problems, especially with the laptop lines (MB, MBP and MBA). Sadly, "it just works" is no longer true of Apple's wares.

And say what you want, defend them if you can, but $1500 for a smartphone is beyond crazy... it's obscene.

Had mine for 2 years, not one issue.. Both phones are reliable. That's nonsense..

I mean, in general iPhone are pretty solid and stay well supported throughout the years, but you can't say the same for most Android phones. Apples chipgame is pretty strong, you didn't respond to that but its a contradiction to your statement that their tech is running behind.

So is Samsung captain. I don't see Samsung trying to get into the car business..
You're kidding, right? No, Samsung is probably not getting in to the car business...because they already have their hands full making, TVs, speakers, refrigerators, ranges, microwaves, washers, dryers, dishwashers, vacuum cleaners, etc., etc.

I remember being a huge android fanatic and hating apple, before the iPhone 4. But I never looked for Apple forums or blogs to comment or participate in any way, because I didn't care about their products. However, for many reasons, I switched from Android, and no longer like Android products, and like Apple a lot. Now, I still don't go to Android blogs and forums, as I really don't care about their products. I am truly fascinated that people, who aren't fans, actually take the time to go to a website of their products' competitor to discuss why they don't like it, and to bash them. Its like, if you don't like Apple, "why do you even care? why are you here?"

It's called discussion and debate. I work in the tech industry. I go on all kinds of forums..

My point is look at the laptops, a mac laptop from 2012 looks very similar to one today. They came out with the touchbar, a bust at best. Lackluster Iphone X sales, an underpowered 12 inch laptop with no ports, and a slew of bugs and issues for last year's Macbook Pro models including a class action lawsuit as they wouldn't fix the keyboard issues. It took a massive lawsuit for them to do anything. It's hardly the roses you guys portray. You guys might fall for those supposedly magical conferences each year, but I haven't seen anything worthwhile in 5 years.

I'm not saying the phone doesn't work, or isn't adequate, i'm saying they have been surpassed from a technology perspective.. Samsung phones had capabilities Iphones didn't have for years. They are always ahead. That might not matter to most, but i'm not paying more money for inferior technology..

Look at Icloud for photos, what a massive scam. Google offers it for free, yet the less educated pay monthly to store photos. Look at the Photos app on Mac, it's 10 years behind the times.

There was a time in history when Apple was compelling, they were doing things others were not and the tech was cool. Those times have long gone, around the time Steve jobs passed. Coincidence? I don't think so..

So how does S9+ play better than iPhones?

What does S9+ have that I shall switch to Android? In fact I'll say what does Note 9 have that I should not buy iPhone XS Max?

4000 Mah battery
Stylus
MicroSD card slot
No notch
In my eyes a better display
Better camera, especially low light

These are your revolutionary features that differentiates with iPhone Flagship? ok :D

1) Face ID - S9 has IRIS Scanner which only scans Eyes and not the entire Face through infrared dots.

2) 3D Touch

3) A12 Chip - Industry First 7nm Chip

These are called Revolutionary Features and not MicroSD card slot :p

I used an Android phone for a year while I was posted abroad. The biggest problem with Android is it's lack of refinement. There is always some issue or another and you need to constantly tweak the software to keep it working well. Not to mention that the UI tends to bog down after a few months of use. If you want it to function as new you need to wipe it and start over. My nephew loves his Android phone. He loves the fact that he can keep tweaking it and tinkering with it. That's great for people who have time to waste. Apple's design philosophy works for not only those that are techies but also those that aren't. Finally, they support their phones with software updates for at least 5 years after launch. Good luck finding an Android manufacturer that is timely with their Android updates or bothers maintaining their code after 2 years.

And yet again it will get annihilated in benchmarks by iPhones. All that ram and cpu power can’t shove android any faster. Like running a Ferrari on molasses.

Gaprofitt, if you are happy with these above results with S9+ there's nothing wrong in it. It's alright. Everybody has choices. Not everyone wants the best either. It's all according to their preferences.

If you want more customisation then Android is indeed your best bet.

But what's best in the world is not in our hands, it's these facts & figures and Apple sells 2-3 devices in a year, that's it. No other company does that. No other company has it's own operating system with own hardware integration. No other company has invested so much into innovation that they could come up with Face ID 3D Mapping Technology, Touch ID (Apple was first in industry) & now A12 Bionic 7nm Chip (Again first in industry). No other company has so many devices with cross platform and seamless sharing from Mac, iPad, iPhones, Apple Watches to Homepad. I have Apple TV 4K, iPhone 6 (Currently, sold iPhone X for buying iPhone XS Max), Apple Watch Series 1, MacBook Pro 2017 and AirPods. It is just magnificent how all these devices work together.

I can pick up calls from Apple Watch while I'm doing something or may be in the Gym or Running. I can use AirPods to watch Netflix in the night via Apple TV 4K while my wife is sleeping. AirDrop is massively quick to transfer files, photos & videos wirelessly from iPhone to Mac. Many times I make calls from Mac since I am working on my Mac and I don't want to use another device to make a quick call. This is Apple's World and it helps us. We don't love because it's Apple, we love because we can do such things and make our life more easier and better and live in the future and not crib about MicroSD slots and having no headphone jack, like seriously?

You can hate Apple but you can't take away these facts.

Android is a dumpster fire. It’s hot garbage.

I have a google pixel alongside my iPhone X and I have to agree with this. Android is nice. It’s functional but it isn’t intuitive. Even after using it for a long time. Funny thing is gestures a la iPhone X have finally made their way to the pixel and it improves the experience. Android needs iOS and vice versa to drive competition but iOS feels way more polished. I haven’t even touched on the other devices/software like Apple Watch and MacOS. It’s too much to cover. Yes Apple may make mistakes but for the most part things just still work.
