Nope as I said from the beginning it was a poor analogy on your part.

Yes wolf and sub zero are both high end but both are LOW VOLUME.

And yes the iPhone is not a Bentley, which is high price and LOW VOLUME

iPhone is high price AND high volume.

There are NO analogies. it is a unique business model that only one other company has come close but again cannot compare because that company is private and registered as a foundation, while Apple are public and is incorporated.

Again the Bentley and the rolls Royce analogy was relative to your example of Ford, it has nothing to do with the iPhone.

Neither was your analogy comparing it to Macdonald’s.

It has nothing to do with commodity or values.

We are taking about business models.

Do you understand?

Thanks.
Yes I noticed that, so much misinformation, it’s a shame.

What misinformation has been provided here?

Honestly so much. But if you want to focus on something, how about:

iPhone X demand/sales

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/09/07/goldman-sachs-raises-apple-outlook-eat-our-hat-on-iphone-demand.html

When even the analysts admitted they were wrong about iPhone X sales/demand being weak.

Perhaps it’s time for some MacRumors armchair CEOs to do the same.

Woman says Galaxy Note 9 burst into flames inside her purse

Source:
https://nypost.com/2018/09/15/woman-says-galaxy-note-9-burst-into-flames-inside-her-purse/

How do these batteries work and why do they catch fire?

A lithium-ion battery is a kind of rechargeable battery that uses different materials, one holding positive ions and the other holding negative ions. Called the cathode and the anode respectively, these ions move one way when charging, and back again when discharging — being used.

These two layers — or conductors — are never supposed to touch; so manufacturers insert separators to keep them apart. The chemical reaction that makes batteries work creates heat. Overcharging the packs — or charging them too fast — can lead to fires.

Definitely an interesting story about the Note 9. I am no means a Samsung or Apple apologist. However, both have had issues with phones combusting. Manufacturer defects happen and isolated incidents are highly unrealistic, yet possible.

I will give Apple credit on making beautiful hardware, the phones look amazing the A12 is a beast.

But, man iOS looks so out of place on these futuristic looking phones. It looks like something from a decade ago, just very aged and dated.

- No AoD yet ( Always on Display )
- Zero customization still
- Can't even move app icons wherever you want LOL come on Apple. Like i want a row of icons at the bottom just above the dock only, and no app icons on top at all.
- No default settings option.
- No Dark mode or themes
- Can you use the iPhone as s hard drive yet ? Meaning plug the iPhone into your computer, throw a PDF file or some pictures or videos on it, then unplug the phone, bring it to work, and plug the phone into the work PC, and transfer the file ?

And the price !!! WTF Apple, well over $1,000 for these phones. Holy cow crazy. At least the Samsung Note 9 for $900 or so feels like a bargain in compare, and the Note 9 offers a lot features, and amazing hardware. In my opinion the Note 9 is a better value and purchase over the iPhone Xs Max.

Call me back in when iOS 13 beta release, maybe Apple will finally update iOS ?

Earlier, like a year or two ago, I would've been disappointed as you are with the iPhones being behind on software features.

As much as I would love an AOD, LCD wouldn't work ideally with it, so I don't mind the XR not having it. iOS 13 might be the aesthetic overall we desperately needed. Dark mode might come at some other point when OLED is distributed throughout each device offering for the fiscal year. Themes are welcomed, but probably aren't requested as much as other things like better battery life. To use a phone like a true file system, you would need root file access, but Apple would never let that happen. It does have a file app you can transfer files to and from.

Pricing wise, the XR isn't bad as the XS or XS Max.

Post wasn’t directed at you, and at no point am I following you or attacking you.

You made outlandish claims, such as “you have a 5g note 8” or “the note 9, s9 and s8 all have 5g” which is factually incorrect. You keep making it. Other poster corrected you but your still going on about it even here.

Case in point:

For reference sake there:

Here is the first 5g prototype phone currently being tested by Qualcomm.

As you can see the first 5g prototype handsets are neither the note 8 or actually in your possession.

Kindly refrain from personal attacks which is against forum rules.

Have a wonderful evening

Ummm, you were the one posting in topics unrelated to the 5G discussion attacking ME, by bringing it up and basically poking fun at me. I never attacked you once. I asked you to stop and now you are trying to turn the tables like you always do to get your way.

You are the one breaking the rules, not me.

Gotta be in it to win it
Iphone has definitely NOT lost its luster. Absolutely not.
It still has gold luster all over it. Get it and get bling bling all over.

Where I am at on the same $50 monthly phone plan 2-years contract, the phone price:

Iphone XS Max (512Gb) $1100
Note 9 (512 Gb) $400

Iphone is definitely worth the gold (fake gold that is)
Wow, is that Note 9 on a three for one or something?

It is subsidized phone price to stay on 2 year contract on a $50 phone plan.

iPhone xs/max is just so ridiculously overpriced. Then again, there will still be many who will go for iPhone even at that price.
The Note 9 then seems ridiculously overpriced and the market is saying that it is and isn't paying what the manufacturer is selling it for, is the other way to look at it. The max may be overpriced to some, but we'll see how it sells and the market reacts.

To some people $700 is just small change. I am just looking at the price difference and the profit margin of the manufacturer. I bet it costs about similar to produce a XS max or a note9. Specs wise, note9 has more.

I know what you going to say..."apple logo and ecosystem are priceless"... :)

I’m only commenting on the msrp vs selling price, nothing else.

Really?

Smartphone isn't just about RAM/GB/Processor and voila you have made it.

What about the cost of Face ID which is infrared 3D which scans the whole face on iPhone and IRIS Scanner which only scans eyes on Note 9. What about the investment on 7nm Chip A12 Bionic which Samsung has not even released it and it's not even there on Note 9. Do you even think the materials, the OLED screen and the technology of TrueTone is similar with Note 9? There are so many other hidden cost.

A smartphone has a lot more than just RAM. Having 8GB RAM and still your smartphone gets hot is a waste of 8GB and not something to be proud of. Having higher numbers in specs like 25MP of Camera or higher RAMs, they must perform. Performance talk, results talk not the numbers.

Show me the GeekBench results where Note 9 beats iPhone X and then say both are similar.

Having a digitiser in a display is also expensive. The A12 is great but are there any apps that need all that power?

Having same or less is not going to make things forward. If there is A12, there will be apps that can take a lot more things than now. Editing in videography industry via mobile phone has been one of the most exponential growth. AR world is at very initial stages but the forecast growth for that is jut mind blowing. In fact companies like Ikea, Amazon have already taken the advantage to the practical level. But I'm waiting for the AR Maps which will completely change how we look at maps. Google Maps is getting there but not much. I expect Google Maps next year to even compile more AR content into the maps.

There's a lot can be done only when you have the resources, If it's not there, nothing can be done. Also day by day, each app is getting more heavier than ever before because of the added features.

If I tell you, use 2001 windows computer right now, you will say it will run slow, why? because it can't handle the OS and softwares. Same way, having A12 Bionic is always good for the OS and Apps. There's nothing more to it but having A12 in your smartphone will also discover many future apps which will be capable of handing it.

I don't know about the new iPhone but X has 200k vs 280k for note9/s9 antutu benchmark which test overall system performance instead of just CPU alone. And X has twice geekbench single core. But still lost big time in overall performance. And XS is just 15% better in terms of CPU mark. Can the XS even catch up?

Let's see. Note 9 has (and X and XS doesn't):
-Higher resolution and ppi OLED with AOD tech and small area dynamic contrast
- Dual aperture rear camera
- better front cam (8mp vs 7mp)
- digitizer with BT pen
- Fingerprint sensor
- Heart rate/sp02 sensor built-in
- 8gb RAM
- faster LTE modem
- SD card slot
- Type C USB
- FAST wireless charging supported
- Fast charger included
- AKG earphone included
- Dual SIM slots
- Headphone jack
- overall better performance (antutu 280k vs 200k for X)
- ONLY 1/3 PRICE OF XS (2 years contract)
