I don't know about the new iPhone but X has 200k vs 280k for note9/s9 antutu benchmark which test overall system performance instead of just CPU alone. And X has twice geekbench single core. But still lost big time in overall performance. And XS is just 15% better in terms of CPU mark. Can the XS even catch up?

I will let this article talk!

https://www.tomsguide.com/us/galaxy-note-9-benchmarks,news-27773.html
[doublepost=1537256911][/doublepost]
Let's see. Note 9 has (and X and XS doesn't):
-Higher resolution and ppi OLED with AOD tech and small area dynamic contrast
- Dual aperture rear camera
- better front cam (8mp vs 7mp)
- digitizer with BT pen
- Fingerprint sensor
- Heart rate/sp02 sensor built-in
- 8gb RAM
- faster LTE modem
- SD card slot
- Type C USB
- FAST wireless charging supported
- Fast charger included
- AKG earphone included
- Dual SIM slots
- Headphone jack
- overall better performance (antutu 280k vs 200k for X)
- ONLY 1/3 PRICE OF XS (2 years contract)

Again and again and again, I'm saying, you guys are doomed by the numbers with Android Smartphone. It's about the results not numbers and figures.

https://www.cultofmac.com/512485/iphone-x-boasts-best-smartphone-display-ever/

https://www.tomsguide.com/us/iphone-x-best-phone,review-5107.html

Honestly, I know where this thread will go and I give up because I too use to be like this when I was using Android. I use to feel exactly the same that I have more features then how Apple's iPhone or iOS is better?

But when I started using iPhones I understood that whatever iPhone had, it performed the best. There was no nobody close to it. And the whole experience of using a smartphone changed completely.

I never use to pay for apps when I using Android. Download .APK files and boom. Now I have paid more than 10-20USD for an app on iPhone and I don't even regret because it functions the best on iPhone and my money is worth it.

iPhone X was the best ever smartphone I have ever used in my life.

Just for the record, this is my timeline for phones & smartphones bought in the past. I'm putting this up only to tell that I have seen those days of Symbian, Android & now iOS. I have seen those operating system and I use to even install Custom ROMs on Android. The fluidness of iOS is impeccable.

Sony Ericsson T200 -> Sony Ericsson T68i -> Sony Ericsson T610 -> Sony Ericsson K700i -> Sony Ericsson P910i -> Sony Ericsson W800i -> Sony Ericsson P990i -> Sony Ericsson M600i -> Sony Ericsson P1-> Nokia E71 -> Sony Ericsson X1i -> Sony Ericsson X10 -> Sony Ericsson Arc S -> Sony Z1 -> Sony Z Ultra -> Sony Z3+ -> iPhone 6 -> iPhone 7 Plus -> iPhone X -> iPhone XS Max

I use to love Sony and there was never a time where I would even think of other manufactureres. I loved them for their materials and design but Android screwed up the whole experience. The phones use to get so hot and lags all the time after 2-3 years it was just pathetic. I am not Apple fanboy, I love Apple because it gives me the peace of mind of whatever features they have to offer and that's exactly what I want!

Nothing beats a video that shows Note 9 is better in almost very aspect of launching apps, multi tasking etc. And the video is from an apple centric site :)

What's the use of individual benchmarks when the iphone X is hampered and suffered in overall system performance (combination of both software and hardware)

Yeah and after 6 - 12 months of usage I know how fast it performs.

He talks about the price difference and if it’s actually a better phone.

I guess this guy has never fully used use android/Google apps/services before.

I can open g-drive/onedrive/dropbox/LAN drives -all mapped as drives in my phone's file explorer, click on any files I want to edit, edit and save, then the file is synced to all my desktops. Same with email (gmail/outlook), calendar, notes, photos, videos and other type of files - using android/google/microsoft/dropbox auto-sync.

It still performs remarkably well and fast, unlike Iphone where Apple purposely throttle the phone when the next ios version comes out.

I don't have to do anything of these, you know why? because Apple knows how the Software + Hardware integration works.

https://www.cnet.com/news/apple-is-slowing-down-older-iphones-batteries-faq/

Also, talk about present. Apple even addressed this problem in front of the world and fixed it, while Android is still with bugs and lags and no solution to it, just marketing gimmick that having higher RAMs will fix your phone it's the OS which needs to be fixed.

I keep hearing this but have really experienced it.
I've been using Samsung devices since the S1, I have to say I have a fair bit of experience with them.
My partner has my old S7 edge, still works fine, sure, compared to my Newer phones, it's a little bit slower but it's no lagfest.
I just traded my Note 5 for cash, played around with it a bit before I reset it, no lag, still worked as I remembered it.
My Note 8, which is a year old or close to it, no lag.
I visited my friend last week, he purchased my Note 4 off me, had a play, no lag.
Now the S5 I used to have did lag a bit but nothing a reset wouldn't fix.
That's the last phone I used Nova on iirc, I still use it my tablet.
Your experience may have been different but I don't get the lag/slow thing.
I've had:
S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S7 edge and Note 3,4,5,7,8 and 9.
I wonder how slow my S1 would feel if I took it out and played with it?

The only device that was laggy was the original galaxy note but that phone had lots of promblems. However I used the S4, S5 and note 3 long term and they didn’t lag or slow down.

I use my husband’s note 8 which he’s had for a year now from time to time and it doesn’t feel laggy or slow.

Likewise even I have used iPhones in the past and have never experienced any problem or lag or heating problems. But with Android + Sony, I have. Maybe with Android + Samsung, it must be better, no doubt about that.

A year old iPhone X as a benchmark?
Not a fair comparison for a recently released device.

Even so, an iPhone X on iOS 12 has shown to be faster than the note 9.

Just to be clear, I'm not saying "Samsung phones don't lag...", or anything as broad as that.
I'm just saying I haven't really experienced it on my devices personally so in my opinion, it's not a Samsung thing rather than a user thing.
Perhaps iOS protects users from themselves in that regard?
I don't know.....
The last iOS device I owned was an ipod touch in 2009, imagine having to pay for firmware....lol, I wasn't touching an iOS device after that.
I've used others Samsung devices that were terrible but these were older and the people using them had no concept of housecleaning, these were jammed to the point of not being able to be used properly.

My first Android device was the cute little Xperia S10 mini, that little phone was great, so small but usable.

I don’t understand what you mean by having to pay for firmware?
Did you have to pay for iOS updates on iPod touches back in the day?

Edit yes it seems you did

My first was the Samsung Galaxy Y which was even smaller than my iPhone 4 which was stolen. I used it for a month and then paid to upgrade early to the original galaxy note.

Why are you still here? We’re glad that you moved on for so much more with the same money spent... but at the end of the day, we’ll have more iPhone Max users then the 9...

Sorry firmware was the wrong word, iOS was what I should have said.
That really irked me, I needed the upgrade for something crucial, id3 tags? or something like that, the ipod was part of my car audio at the time and id3 was messed up bad which made it pretty much unusable as a player.
I sold the touch and didnt touch another Apple product until recently.

Check this out :D

iPhone 8, not iPhone X, is beating Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus in total market share

Source:

https://www.techradar.com/news/ipho...ating-samsung-galaxy-s9-in-total-market-share
[doublepost=1537275959][/doublepost]Since Apple switched to Intel Modems, many said it will be even slower LTE speeds in iPhone XS compared to iPhone X as it uses Qualcomm Modems.

Well....

Initial tests show iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max have significantly better LTE speeds

Ahh ok, well I learnt something - my first Apple device was an iPhone 4 I got in January 2011 and never paid for an iOS update. Yea kinda sucks you did before. Similar to how iTunes music purchased since 2009 or so was DRM free.

Actually not really, you can blame Enron and Worldcom for that fee and a bunch of others.
Due to Sarbanes-Oxley.

Don’t know why anyone still blames Apple.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarbanes–Oxley_Act

“the short version it was due to accounting rules that came along with compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Apple in trying to comply had to charge for software that made non-subscription based hardware have additional features. iPhones could get free updates, but Macs and iPods could not. That's why there was a $0.99 FaceTime upgrade for Snow Leopard on the Mac App Store and a $0.99 WiFi Upgrader for some Macs that shipped with Draft 802.11 N compliant chips before that standard rolled out. If you ran the software it enabled your WiFi to upgrade from G to N via the software update.

Since these dark times, changes in accounting methods and court interpretations of how the Sarbanes-Oxley Act can be applied have made it possible to upgrade software for free.”

Here I found a video for you to know why iPhones are better than Android Smartphones!

Also,

The iPhone XS and XS Max just destroyed the iPhone X – and every Android phone – in benchmarks

It's 2018 and people still think higher Geekbench scores translate to a perceivable difference in real-world performance?

Also, I can tell from the obvious debt he's accrued to the Apple ecosystem, based on the wall behind him, that he wouldn't be a fan of Android.

I don’t care about bechmarks. The truth is most phones have been fast enough for several years now. There is nothing that I want to do on my phone that requires the horse power of the A12 chip. For that matter the A11 chip on my iPhone X is beyond anything I do on a daily basis.
