It is still slower compared to the 7, much slower! iOS 11.1 and iP8.
iPhone 7 is faster than my 8, that is very disappointing.
What a bold statement.

Moving around the OS my 8 is faster (slightly) than my 7, with much fewer dropped frames.

Certain tasks (that I haven’t seen with personal usage) are unoptimizable for the 8, as I’ve seen in some YouTube speed tests. Those slowdowns are isolated to specific apps and won’t be felt by the majority of users.

Still, I’m sure Apple will resolve the issues in due time. Remember the iPhone 6 orientation bug at launch? THAT was annoying.

Yes I also believe you that an iPhone 7/7+ running 10.3.3 is faster than the 8. The home button delay alone will make it feel faster. Glad I'm sticking in 10.3.3 on my 7.

Alright watch the first video that shows the 8 vs the note. Next watch the second video with the 7 vs the 6S.

Notice how instantly the 7 closes apps! The 8 on iOS 11 closes apps and responds similar to the physical home button like the 6S. I don't know how else to show people. But if you can't see the speed difference with the closing animation by watching these two videos... well it's just so obvious that the 7 is more responsive than the 8 is. They really need to get rid of the home button delay! Anyways I'm content on 10.3.3. I feel bad for the 8 owners and people who have upgraded their 7 to iOS 11. It's such an obvious slowdown with the feel of the device.

Finally. Here we can consistently see the 7 on 10.3.3 closing apps faster than iOS 11 which has introduced the timing delay.

If you slow the video down you can see that a lot of times the 10.3.3 closing animation is finished or almost finished but the time the iOS 11 closing animation starts.

To me and many others on here this little change to the timing makes a big difference to the feel of the device. Obviously it doesn't bother a lot of people and that's ok too. But it's there and it's real and it factually makes the feel phone slower because it takes more time to do stuff and that time adds up! Poor design choice. Should have left it the same. I'll be staying on 10.3.3. I don't know if they will fix this or not. I sure hope they do!

Installed iOS 11.1 b1 on my iPhone 7, animations are much smoother, unlocking the phone is much faster, but the new home button behaviour/delay is still a little annoying but I suppose I’ll just get used to it.

Although I’ve had some odd instances of the iPhone X “floating turd” (thanks Chris Pirillo) appearing on stock apps.

I’ve pretty much resigned to downgrading tomorrow until (or should that be “if”) Apple gets its **** together.

I won’t accept intentional crippling and slowdowns.

My biggest issues with iOS 11 is the delayed unlocking of my device. Also, if I lock the screen and immediately press the home button to wake or raise to wake, my 6s will not wake up for at least 10 sec. It basically unresponsive. My music app is crashing a lot too. Is anyone else having these issues?

I had that show up on my calls at the bottom. Not sure if that bar was there in 11.0/11.0.1.

It would be pretty funny if the X home line was actually usable.

Does anyone believe this issue will be ever fixed? Downloaded the 11.1 update and its gotten worse on my phone or maybe its just the placebo effect.

am sure that, for you, it will just get worse and worse (since apple is targeting specific people with intentional bugs); this is in fact how all tech companies work.

This 11.1 B1 is actually terrible. My 7 Plus now stutters routinely. Back to 11.0.1

Thats odd, 11.1 on my 7 Plus performs better than 11.01.

11.1 beta 1 has been great on my 7 Plus. Animations much, much better than 11.01.
Same here, animations are quicker/apps launch as soon as you click them.

Battery life seems to have stabilised after 2 days. Seems it's better now. But the lag and stutter are still there. The home button delay is still aggravating me.

hard reset? call apple? something's up with your phone...
When I downgrade to 10.3.3, its all smooth. iOS 11 is the issue. My iPad Pro 12.9 2017 has zero stutters on iOS 10 but on iOS 11 I can still stop framedrops every now and then. TouchID is also slower than iOS 10. I literally have to push the button twice to recognize my fingerprint

Keep reporting the animation issues. When I see them, I do.

11.1 is better with animation, than 11.01 here. It will be smoothed out. Hopefully next beta is improved.
