I'm going to try an get a X that's why I kept my 7 at 10.3.3.

Last year I updated my 6s to 10.0 and saw the dark camera bug and went back to 9.3.5 since I could, while waiting for my 7 to arrive.
I am also going to be doing the same from this point forward. My iPad stays on iOS 10 till I get the next one. I am getting the X because I need an upgrade and I am frustrated with iOS 11 on my 7 Plus. When I get the X, I will keep it on iOS 11 and not upgrade to 12. I just can't let go of that bezelless OLED on the X. I need it.

To anyone who denies this it made the iPhone 7 slower than the 6

Um I watched your video and I don't see a 1 to 2 second delay in closing.

Also, I seem to remember that there was an animation problem opening apps and pressing the home button soon after for folks moving from 9.x to 10.x last year. But most of the community just laughed at the folks opening apps and switching quickly away.

Yup, all true (and has been pointed out multiple times before as well, just gets conveniently overlooked, deflected, etc.).

I was searching for a topic on my iPad Pro 10.5, I’ve been experiencing the iPad not opening from a lock screen. I can’t tell if it’s just not registering my fingerprint or the iOS GUI is just slow to open, but I think it’s the former.

Apple has had :

ios 11 beta 2
ios 11 beta 3
ios 11 beta 4
ios 11 beta 5
ios 11 beta 6
ios 11 beta 7
ios 11 beta 8
ios 11 beta 9
ios 11 GM
ios 11.0.1
ios 11.0.2
ios 11.0.3
ios 11.1 beta 1
ios 11.1 beta 2
ios 11.1 beta 3
ios 11.1 beta 4 (GM probably)

and still there's a 1 second delay any time you press the home button on ios 11 using any device including the brand new 8 and 8+

do all of you guys really find this acceptable? you can't possibly tell me that all of the thousand of apple employees just magically "let this slip through" 16 versions of ios 11 and counting.

If there's a delay, it certainly isn't a second on my SE (a second is a pretty long time!). Personally, there doesn't seem to be a significant difference between 10 and 11.

If you have the click speed set to slow or slowest, then the delay will be bigger because it's waiting to see if you're double clicking it

Mine seems to work as advertised. I don’t count the time between physical contact and software response. If there is a delay it doesn’t bother me.

there is no "it works fine for me" the delay is present on every single phone. if u wanna see it you'll need an iphone 7 running any version of ios 10 to compare the delay between ios 10 and 11

First of all, you’re quoting “made up words.” I never said it works fine for me. I said it works as advertised-which it does. I place thumb down, phone unlocks. I click button, phone takes me to home screen. As advertised, that’s what the home button is supposed to do. I also said, “If there is a delay it doesn’t bother me.” Aka, I have better things to do with my life than sit here and see just how minute of a delay there is between press and reaction. Just because you’re anal doesn’t mean I have to be. I enjoy my phone. If it bothers you that much then find another option.

I don’t see the delay, a second delay is definitely noticeable.

it may be more like 0.7 seconds than 1 second, that really isn't the point. the point is compared to ios 10, a brand new phone has a purposely added delay that hasn't been fixed in 16 ios updates

This has been done to death in the thread linked above. Only way to solve it FOR NOW is buy iPhone X. It’s unclear whether Apple will solve it but imo it won’t.

I have my apps placed in folders, often when I come out of an app and the folder reappears it then takes a coulple of seconds after pressing the home button to get back to the home screen. It’s like the device has locked up.

No delay on iPhone 6.

Not on iPhone 6. If there is a delay, it doesn’t seem to affect phones with a physical home button (clickable).
[doublepost=1508678960][/doublepost]No delay on iPad Air 2 or iPad Mini 4.
