I just want the traffic/accident/police reporting to launch in Canada.
I’ve used it to report an accident down here (US). Haven’t really come across reports from others though (that I know of), so I wonder if it’s not exactly a well-known feature in the areas it’s available. The more places the better though, because that will hopefully get it more attention!

The cycling directions would be nice too…but being a Northerner…our nice-bike-weather days are running low at this point 😂

That’s what happened when I first saw mine in NYC the week before last. But I was in the car pool lane and just assumed something was there in the slower lanes…never saw it though and you’re right, it cleared before I got to it.

They need to adjust the timing of that box to let you confirm slightly after you pass it.
On Waze, the box is “attached” to the event. It’s programmed to disappear a short time after you pass the reported event, rather than being timed from the moment the warning first appears. For crashes, hazards, and speed traps, Apple should transition into this method.

A little afraid we won't be seeing a large-scale Look Around release anytime soon. Justin O'beirne has a post up on his site saying the coverage areas for San Francisco and New York City were expanded.

Based on a quick look at SF, it looks like Look Around was expanded to cover the same area as the detailed map covers. (I do recall the detail extending out farther than Look Around did. It appears that both are the same now).

And now we wait for CarPlay's "later this year" features...

Look Around in NYC area now out to White Plains (IIRC, it stopped at Gun Hill Road in the past, or maybe Mt Vernon)

Look Around has been extended north from New York City into Westchester County, as far north as White Plains and a portion of the Tappan Zee Bridge.

And it says this new Look Around imagery was taken in April 2021! I checked my area in Queens, and we still have the original imagery from June 2019.

The “City Experience” for NYC seems to perfectly match the new expanded Look Around territory. Interesting…

Some things I’ve noticed:

-Most of the major bridges have been beautifully rendered. One or two were half-assed generic bridges, and one or two are just overpasses over water. lol

-Thanks to the new details, train tracks now show every track, as well as connections between tracks. Previously, Maps only

More tidbits to follow later….

Oh! And a correction. My neighborhood *does* have newer Look Around footage from April 2021. Just not every block. Also haven’t seen a way yet to choose between different dates.

These are awesome, but I'm confused. I've been on IOS 15 since the first PB, and I'm not seeing any of the new structures in color. They're all grey. Statue of Liberty is rendered in 3D, but is grey, not green.
Does it just depend on what server is serving my data? I have maps set to Explore mode.

Noticing the 3D objects have shadows…are the shadows real-time based on the position of the sun?? Sun is currently in the west….

Wow, they even properly placed the road on the lower level of the George Washington Bridge!

Do a hard restart...it should show up.

...and I still can't believe I missed out on getting detailed routing video by 4 days. Oh well, back in a few weeks.
