I had about 5 address updates that show up in two different spots on the map area. One was relocated from the correct spot to a home across the freeway from me. I do enjoy updating addresses but it’s frustrating when reporting something time after time and it keeps being put in the wrong spot. I still have a few things that I’ve submitted as fixes that nothing has happened on. Also I like that Apple shows you what you’ve submitted for review but I wish there was a more granular system. Like have a split plane that shows what’s in review and the other what has been updated.
The list of reports isn't detailed enough, I feel. It just gives you the basic category of what you were trying to correct, and you can't select one to see all of the details you entered originally. Sometimes I look at an entry and its category and location, and can't remember what I was trying to change.

The Throgs Neck Bridge, previously showing on the new maps with no detail at all, now has very basic bridge towers. Still not how the bridge actually looks, but it shows that Apple is still pushing through updates to the detailed scenery. Perhaps as time goes on, we'll eventually have fully-detailed 3D models for all bridges?

Also, two random views of details along the FDR Drive in Manhattan. lol

Hello! :)
I don't know if it was asked before but I dare to ask now, as far as concerning as Maps (Apple), as far as Google Maps.
I want to plan and drive a route thar has two pointing drops and I don't know if I can plan it on my Iphone (Maps or Google Maps).
I drive from my Home to my Ex Husband to leave my daughter (one drop point) and then I drive to the end point (the second one), my boyfriend's.
Is it possible to calculate this route and plane this kind of routes (more than one stop) on Maps or on Google Maps?
If so, which app can do that and how can I do it.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards.

Apple Maps doesn't support multiple stops in one route; it's purely A to B. (Although you can search for a POI en-route for an intermediate stop.)

What I would recommend doing is before you leave, "plan" your stops. Retrieve navigation directions on your phone for all of your intended destinations for the trip. In your example, set your destination as your ex-husband's home, cancel it, and then set a new destination to your boyfriend's home, and then cancel that.

When it's time to leave, your destinations will be quickly available to load from your "recents" area. Load directions to your first stop. After arriving there, you can load your next destination. Very easy.

Personally, I think he's just undertaking a massive reorganization of his essays and research. Perhaps he'll time the debut of his new layout to coincide with the release of his "Coming Soon" essay on the redesigned maps. haha

I've been thinking about the highway zoom levels. When people complained about them (including on CarPlay), I offered that the reasoning was probably intentional, in order to show off more of the new map details. But upon further reflection, I realized that so far, only San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City, and London have the super details. So those zoom levels wouldn't make as much sense for the VAST majority of the country that does NOT have the new details.

Maybe the elevation data is messing it up somehow? Will have my first chance to record from LaGuardia to downtown when I fly in this morning!

A couple of videos…added them to my new channel, so feel free to subscribe so you get notified when I finally get around to editing with commentary.

I forgot to turn on focus mode at first, so this first video has some notifications…but shows a couple of good examples of the 3D interchange view.

This is the rest of my ride into Manhattan with notifications turned off. Love the detail!

Just an FYI...I took a look at the site. Everything's back, but the "Coming Soon" is still marked on the redesigned maps.

Was able to capture the virtual reality function on my walk back from lunch…and understand when/how it is supposed to be used. Will upload the video and share shortly!

EDIT: Video below. So, how it works…you’re not actually supposed to use it while walking. You come out of a building, subway station, etc. and you have no idea which direction you are facing or should walk, scan the buildings and it shows you right on the screen where to go or start.

I, of course, knew where I was going and was walking, so that is why he keeps telling me to stop and pay attention, hah!

Still, pretty damn kewl and no one seemed to notice or care. FYI..my phone also has a privacy screen protector on it, so unless you are right behind me, no one can see what I’m looking at on my phone. Need to update the walking entrance for my building though as Maps correctly shows the street address, but you really enter from either 42nd street frontage or just off off 43rd facing a construction area right now on 6th.

Funny…I played with the reality walking directions the other day. Thought it was weird how I had to point it to the middle of the street to see where to walk. lol

Hah…yeah…like in my video where it shows the arrow and is like, “look over here to see the directions!”

I had no idea what I was doing though.

Now I’m totally buzzing from drinks with clients before racing to the airport to barely walk on my plane. Video of that trip uploading now!

Sooooo…I remember seeing people complaining about the POI icons being too small to read while navigating on CarPlay. Then this happened to me the other day:

This might be a “glitch” that I haven’t seen since early iOS 14, where the font sizes for the main map display and the dashboard map get flipped around. You either have large road name bubbles with small POI icons and neighborhood names, or you get smaller road name bubbles with larger POI icons and extra large neighborhood names.

Sometimes, plugging the phone into CarPlay, then unplugging it and plugging in again, will result in you getting the other font sizes. Very strange.
