Does anyone know if it's possible to reset Apple Maps cache in order to try and get the BETA for the Australian maps release?

It’s on Apple’s side and is supposedly based on a random IP selection.

Hard Rest is the only thing you can do to have your device trigger any server side changes that may apply to you in advance of your device doing so itself.

At the end of the day, you are either “selected” or you are not.

Has this been confirmed though? I've heard several say that deleting the Maps app and reinstalling it can trigger the change.

This has been the case since at least iOS 13. Its server side driven. Don’t waste your time on all these tricks.

I’ve never heard that before. Only that it is random and in most cases based on a random selection of IP addresses based on the area under testing.

In the case of Italy, it was released to all on the iOS 15 beta initially as a test, but then pulled back a few days later. Even I had access to that one despite being in the USA.

Alright cool thanks for the info, I was unaware that was the case.

So you’re saying the best bet is to do a full system restore to try and trigger it?
If your IP is selected, the phone/iPad will automatically give you access the next time the IP is refreshed. You can force this refresh by hard restarting the product (volume up press, volume down press and then holding the power button until the Apple symbol appears….release and let the device restart).

Driving to get dinner yesterday, I got the “new” camera angles and zooms on CarPlay again…but lost it again on my drive home.

Then this morning, I opened Apple Maps and suddenly received prompts to pin nearby Transit into my Favorites, which I’ve never seen before.

That’s pretty cool. I could imagine wanting that if I took the same train every morning and evening to and from work.

Because of the preponderance of bus routes near my home, and subway lines near my office, there are probably no less than ten different combinations of routes I could take into or home from work. I have my own preferred routes depending on the time of day, too. So looking up transit directions in Apple Maps doesn't really help me. Believe it or not, I don't *always* want the fastest route home via transit.

I usually use the "Transit" app to quickly check the arrival times of nearby buses or trains.

I miss the Yellow, blue and green major roads, everything is some form of grey now and it just looks horrid, like how did they think changing the most iconic thing about apple maps was a good idea
