Chatter online would seem to indicate that iOS 15.2 isn't ready for public release yet. They're apparently still waiting on a Beta 4 to come out, and the current beta is really buggy still?

I take that back about the status updates...no matter when you click on them, they seem to always show a time that is two minutes ahead of the current time?
EDIT - Okay, I take that back a second time, and negate my previous take-back.
The road was closed a bit earlier today. I then received a notification from one of my bus/subway apps that the buses that were previously being detoured by the water main break had resumed their normal routes. I walked over to take a look, and sure enough, the road was reopened. I then opened Apple Maps...and the road closure was gone!
So that has me thinking...how did Apple Maps update? Were they contacted by a governmental group to report the road reopening? Or do you think Maps reopened the roads on its own after detecting a certain number of vehicles passing through the closure area?

Road closures data are taken from TomTom. You can easily check in TomTom Mapshare Reporter page (must sign up), road closures data are 100% identical. TomTom has this system/algorythm when it detects lot of vehicles moving particular closed segment, it cancels the closure.
Not in the USA or any other country that uses Apple’s data.
More than likely, due to the timing it was called in by or grabbed from government data and backed up by Apple’s own movement algorithm.
Apple’s in-house MAP data is one thing, but ROAD CLOSURES data are still outsourced by TomTom. Look at this:
1) Screenshot of today’s road closure on Harford rd in Baltimore - notice that road closure marking ends before the crossroad
2) Now look on this screenshot from TomTom mapshare reporter. They are identical (not map data, but road closure data are)
3) I reported missing road closure part to TomTom. Orange marker means, that my report is being processed
4) My report was accepted and picked-up by TomTom’s algorithm few minutes later
5) Almost immediately Apple maps are also showing the change
Kind of bummed, have to say!So, having a discussion with some folks on Reddit about LookAround and road markings being released and noticed that Apple changed the bullet point about the new driving features to the following:
New driving features -- A new dedicated driving map highlights details like traffic and incidents, and a route planner lets you view your upcoming journey by choosing a future departure or arrival time.
So, road markings and 3D interchanges were removed from this separate listing and are now only under the detailed city experience.
You can still read the original version of this bullet in the first post of this thread.
I think the bolded part is an important point. It gives me hope that it’ll be sooner rather than later because it extends a decent distance outside of the designated area DOES suggest that it’s there…but also NOT there.I really think Look Around and some other road details are going to expand quickly soon, even though it looks like it’s only for City Detail areas. The data really does extend quite far outside of those designated areas before falling apart.
Not surprised, but updating to the 15.2 RC doesn't automatically get you the new Maps in Australia - have missed out all these weeks, haven't seen it on any of my devices!
Hopefully it's due in the next week or two.
