Neither for me. Keep finger crossed for the rest of the day

The JSON file has not been updated yet and it is said that this is the last step apples does, to show the 'add card' function in the wallet app. (I have a script checking for that JSON file every 30 minutes)

before apple changes that JSON file all the banks will have activated their APIs. so you will be able to add ur card using another region setting (to show the 'add card' function)

so at the moment, the only way to check if something has been changes is changing the region settings and trying to add a card issued by a supporting bank

Why should I change my region settings? It should just show up in wallet himself?

Tried adding comdirect Visa - nothing, no Apple Pay visible in online Banking where you usually activate Google Pay :(

As I wrote: activating Apple Pay on the devices is the last step. And this is done by using that JSON file. Before that it’s able to add a card. Problem is, that without that Setting in that file you dont see the button to add a card. So u have to make that button visible. Apple uses that file, and we users have to tell the device it’s in a region where that file allows adding cards.

“...das Jahr hat noch ein paar Tage *wink*”

So basically telling us it’s coming in a few days...

This might be a stupid question: should I switch my location back to Germany? Ever since I've been using Boon, I've switched to Ireland.

Will I face any problems when trying to add German cards, once AP goes live in DE?

Nope! No problem at all. I have a cards in Wallet from different countries. And adding them was no issue at all. So you can continue having your region set to Ireland!

I am not that confident about an Apple Pay Cash launch in Germany, since the KYC (Know your customer) requirements here are not allowing an automated check of your ID card. What is allowed at the moment is a video ident (e.g. IDNow) or PostIdent (Deutsche Post), both ways are to cumbersome for a customer experience that Apple would accept (Does not affect other European countries like France, Ireland, Netherlands).

For the Apple Pay launch in Germany, I would still bet on the first or second week of November.

They could just do it like Boon - verify it from Ireland ;)

I think they won’t launch it because of little market potential.

Who should use it? What for? And why APC? As 8-9 out of 10 customers carry around android smartphones, there are few to no payment receivers.

And btw: for a service like APC there is no such confirmation needed. See PayPal etc. you don’t open a fully functional bank account and the transfers are limited.

Boon also needs foto verification of your ID and so on.

My guess is also after the event.

But it’s crazy: I don’t even have account which will support Apple Pay from the start, but I’m refreshing this thread every hour to get news.
Like a kid on Christmas.
