That’s not true. Sure it’s not that big thing like in the US but it’s not „no thing“.

Compared to the US it is no thing. 99 % of the people don’t even know what Black Friday is not do they know where and when this specific day is. And how many ships actually do offer Black Friday deals? Besides amazon and Media Markt there are not too many. Sure in the last couple of years this changed a little bit but compared to the US ...

It’s like with Halloween or thanksgiving.

Seems no one of you guys have been to the US on a Black Friday otherwise you would know better. And after all this way about Apple Pay so why should Apple give a damn about launching Apple Pay on Black Friday.

My parents and whole family know what Black Friday, all my friends know what Black Friday and my whole university class know what Black Friday is.

I doubt apple is releasing Apple Pay here to be ready for Black Friday. But I work for a mid sized advertising and consulting company and our customers are doing a lot of local Black Friday stuff

But still, compared to the US it’s nothing

And then go the a mall of your choice or to local shops and look how many Black Friday deals you can find. It’s not just about online offers.

So at first it wasnt a big thing and now it isnt a big thing offline. Ok...

Dude Black Friday is no freaking thing in Germany. Germany is not the US. Black Friday in Germany is nothing compared to the US. It you think it is you are wrong. Go to the US and spend Black Friday in a major city and then let’s talk about it ok? Five online shops that offer Black Friday deals and you call it a big thing ...

Can you show me where I called it a big thing? Compared with the Black Friday in US its not that big but its still a thing in germany

Then what are we discussing about. :D So I redefine what i said „Black Friday in Germany is a little thing.“ Happy now? Can we let it go now? :p

Hey, I'm new here but following the thread since day one, too,

but I can't agree on this one. Not a single participating bank shows any kind of advertisements for Apple Pay. There could be even more.

OFC, noone is looking good at this. But watch how the "myth AP" is going viral over the last months
Outside of Apple Forums, fan peer groups and some lonely newspaper articles?

Not very much. None of my colleagues or friends care about Apple Pay. Some never heard of it until I talked about it. And they don’t pay in cash. They just see no need.

@therealtibu is probably addressing the reporting aspect of Apple Pay. Every major outlet I follow (Sueddeutsche, F.A.Z., ZEIT, ...) has done one to multiple features of Apple Pay. And on iPhone-ticker/iFun which is I believe the largest German speaking Apple related news source, AP articles have by far the most comments on average, most of the time reaching triple digits. Of course that still is only a tiny fraction of the market (including us in our bubble) and many laymen to not know or care about Apple Pay (yet) but there is interest and the reporting is beyond just 'lonely newspaper articles'.

A launch tomorrow is as likely as it was today. So not at all.

Rumour has it that the week after next (Tue 27th or Thu 29th November) will be the days most probable for a launch. That's why I'm going to relax until then

iPhone Ticker and iFun are ... not even worth mentioning as they are just Apple Fan bubble sites. And much about clickbait.

And the articles in FAZ & co are what I meant. There are newspaper article. But the only one that are noticing are ... we. The rest does not care. That’s the truth.

Google Pay was also on every newssite. And what is the real impact? Not measureable.

The market development is going on. But Apple Pay is only one small stone in the mosaic. It will not have a massive impact outside of the „Apple Pay is a Must Have“ bubble.

I really don’t know anybody who is planing to use it outside the topic peer group in the apple forums and Twitter. All other iPhone user I know just don’t care at all. They are especially not willing to change banks just to pay with their phone and watch. And they are nearly all technology fans. Early adopters in many ways.
