Why you guys doubt for a launch this year now? If Tim Cook said so, then believe him. He told later this year about ECG in the watch and AirPower, so with applepay, we have one month left. There will be no delays

Right, I need to be a bit more precise on some information I have given before: I stand by the fact that the boon. app should appear overnight in the German App Store - which happened in the most recent launches that boon. was part of (Italy and Ireland). It also makes sense, especially if boon. is a launch partner.

-> No detailed source for Ireland, but I clearly remember this

What isn't correct is that I stated the timeframe for a launch was usually 07-10am. That used to be the case, but this year generally the launch has been at around 5-6am local time. That is a fact for Brasil, Poland, Norway and as we saw also for Kasachstan/Belgium.

-> Users sharing pics of their cards being added on Twitter: Usually starts at around 6am (ie. https://twitter.com/ApplePayBR/status/980643089999069184; https://twitter.com/alexanderslev1n/status/996976922298146817)

I think we could expect the same for Germany. I just wanted to clarify this, as I like facts... not fake news (hi, mr n4p84).

Someone asked, how often the Device polls the state of the availability - so fetching that config.json.

When you look at the HTTP caching headers, the max-age is 85s. But it also has an ETag and a Last-Modified header. At the moment of writing this, Last-Modified has the Value Wed, 28 Nov 2018 02:30:05 GMT, which was the launch of Belgium yesterday, right?

So, if they use standards, every 85s the Feature-Flags on the Device are updated.

(Btw: Using ETag and Last-Modified is an anti-pattern AFAIK)

Who cares that DKB will not participate to Apple Pay?

Ab Frühjahr 2019!

I think its polling once a day and when you open up the wallet app. And maybe some kind of secret push message. Don't think its polling that file every 85 seconds...

Sure. I did not say, that the device polling in that interval, but thats the validity of that document. And I think there are people who open the Wallet App quicker than every 85 seconds. ;-) To reduce that traffic and take off some load of their Backend, that header is set also for caching instances in front of the Apple server.
So for the script kiddies: You won't get quicker than 1 update per 85 seconds.

Rudolf Linsenbarth was joking around yesterday, that possibly Apple was waiting for DKB and ING.

I'm just going to say it: Could that be the reason Apple Pay is taking longer than usual to launch? comdirect was very late to the party and if Apple was able to bring DKB and/or ING on board for this year... it would be worth the wait, right?

We are also still waiting for Commerzbank and Santander...

If they are waiting, we have to wait several additional months.
Yep, my error: "Frühjahr 2019", which fits with the update from FI in April 2019 - as Holger Dohms wrote a few days back: that would be the timeframe for Apple Pay as well.

Assuming DKB and ING will join the launch... how do they compare to comdirect?
Does anybody in here have experience with their Apps, especially of DKB and ING?
