Btw. Just read an interesting post from someone in switzerland who posted that some cardowners of a credit card service which has a bonussystem behind it had to decide if ApplePay or the Bonuspoints and then I thought about their finance model.
So I do not see Amazon Prime CC or LH Miles and More with ApplePay soon.
Payback Amex has a lot higher income because they are not limited to EU-regulation for credit card prices, right?
Curve might have ApplePay as they use a Business Credit Card which is also not limited.
Maybe thats also the reason for Miles and More changing their Miles system some time ago. If you take the LH Business you get more miles....

The case you’re writing about is where a grocery chain changed their credit card issuer so those who didn’t want to change to the new issuer got a new offer from their current issuer for a new similar card with cashback and Apple Pay. So it’s not about either points or Apple Pay.

Yeah, I don’t think they’re waiting for Sparkasse this year anymore.
If they would say „hey, wait four more weeks and we are in“, Apple would wait for sure. But this is not happening at the moment. Half a year at last until S-tart.
And that they need at least until April is now confirmed with the DKB announcing Google Pay for “spring 2019” which coincides with the rumors about “project diamond” at Finanz Informatik, which DKB is also using for their card issuing and management.
I think with Frühjahr they ment not Frühling. I would guess a start in january or february. Can‘t belive DKB announce it now and go live in 5 months
The thing is that I can’t find a reason why they don’t go live. They have their banks to start with. In other countries they startet als with a lot less banks. Don’t think they are wating for some other banks.
So why the wait? They never announced it in a country and didn’t start till the next earnings call.
Of course it needs to be implemented but I don’t think it is real rocket science.

Interesting is: this tweet is from August. And somehow confirms the timetable of „diamond“. Which means this is nothing new but a long term plan running since months.
