It's one of the "older" guesses (I'm not calling them insider information), I have—compiled from all the dark places of the Internet—the following dates left in my calendar. I didn't put the source of the date in it, because it honestly doesn't matter:
December 4-6 (I don't remember where this came from)
December 11 (stemming from the 12/11 (US date) and 11.12. (German format) confusion)

How hilarious is it that Apple stores are not supporting nfc yet? They know about the upcoming Apple Pay launch for at least 5 month now and yet they cannot manage to set up the Apple stores properly. If this is true than Apple reached a new level of stupidity.

It's true. You can read it on reddit - some users reported it in August / September already for Berlin. Some users also reported it for Cologne last week.

Didn't those experts from chip.de call the new iPhone XS actually XS (read X S instead of 10s)?
docfred said it all though..

Bs, because 1) Monday  2) all retailers are told to do, is put up stickers and update their terminals on a vague timeline. And Kaufland already supports NFC for a while (at least mine) 3) it‘s chip.de, nowadays I could write better Apple Pay articles than them

That said, my gut tells me next week is likely; after all insiders lost their track record anyway

Can’t believe how many dates float around

So far everything has been wrong anyway so a Monday launch is possibly too. I'm not saying its happing I'm just saying all the "standards" seem to have changed. Usually Apple announces new countries on the earnings calls - not happening anymore. Usually new countries get a landing page - not happened in the case of Kazachstan. Usually Apple Pay starts between 7 - 9 in the morning in the country it launches - didnt happen with belgium. So for all we know is Apple does whatever they want to do. If they want to start in the middle of the night they will. If they want to start on a monday they will. There is no "BS, because its Monday" anymore.

The retail thing might prove to be true and completely believable... look at the ALDI story in Belgium. I thought that was BS but it proved to be the most accurate information on the launch there.

As you can’t order the stickers to Germany, only the exclusive retail partners get the stickers / images for the terminals (as with Aldi SÜD) and Apple then launch in that week. Next week would be good...

FYI Belgium also did not have an AP page until some time after the launch

Guys, I am sure that's new. They added a (CH) label behind "Deutsch". That could mean, that they are planning to also add maybe a (DE) (and AT?) label in the near future. What do you think?

That's definitely new. I'm sure they'll add "(DE)", but I don't think so about "(AT)" (yet)

I do believe retail stickers are a good indicator, just not an exact one. In my strategy I would advise promotional partners to get them up until a certain date. I would time this 1-10 days in advance of a launch, that‘s why my bet is on KW49. While you are right Apple has diverted in multiple processes, one could find reasons for those (secrecy; launching as a manual process instead of a scheduled process), I can‘t think of a reason why Apple would suddenly go for a Monday? Leaving Monday untouched always gives one more working day for preparations. Many IMHO ill-informed people have been putting Monday out there SO OFTEN because 1) it‘s the start of a ‚new’ week 2) drawing wrong conclusions.
E.g. it might be true the deadline for placing AP decals and stickers is Monday 03.12., but because it is the last day before the first possible slot of the week (Tuesday) (still assuming the 4-year-established process will remain).

All this swearing and back and forth is getting on my nerves. Clearly I was talking about the official Apple Pay supplies site.

That it’s possible to download something from google pics and print it is so obvious. Honestly...
Google pics? Did you look at the link? Officially from apple.

Where does the information come from that Apple Pay never launches on Mondays? You're driving me insane.

Apple Pay launched in the UK on July 13, 2015 — a Monday.
Apple Pay launched in France on July 18, 2016 — a Monday.
Apple Pay launched in Japan on October 24, 2016 — a Monday.
Apple Pay launched in Poland on June 18, 2018 — a Monday.

What the?
