FYI The banner in the DB Online Banking has changed after Thursday.

It now states the following:

"Coming soon: Deutsche Bank mit Apple Pay

Bezahlen kann so einfach sein.
Sind Sie schon bereit für Apple Pay?"

So maybe DB thought on Wednesday that the launch is on Thursday, but Apple changed their mind once again.

I was at Berlin Südkreuz today and wanted to buy something from a bakery („Wiener Feinbäckerei“). Apparently the cashier didn‘t have any change at all. So I wanted to pay the 1,65 Euro with a 2 Euro coin. She seemed helpless and finally gave me 50 cents back. This wouldn‘t have happened if I was able to pay by card (which I obviously wasn‘t). xD

What do you think about the following article?

https://t.co/IvX2E7zLi5

Code:

He thought there was a misunderstanding of the launch date. 12/11 in the US is 11. December and not 12. November.

Just stopped at my local Telekom store, not sure if this has been posted before!

comdirect and Amex DE have removed all information regarding Apple Pay from their homepage. The pages are still there, just not advertised any more. Bad sign? Who knows.

That's what I can see on Amex DE.

it’s absolutely normal, it’s new month and marketing team has to do promotions, and so older promotions disappear, or they remove it so when apple pay start it would be clear communication “hey there is upadate”, i saw online s.oliver now had put stickers too so, if it was a bad sign i would not expect new signs to pop up. but that does not rule out possibility that we might not have release this year, but that would be really extremely bad for tim, as he was clear on board meeting when the start will happen....

why do the telekom shops put up new stickers with accepted payment methods but still use the old mastercard and visa logos?

It is safe to assume this has to do with the Apple Pay launch, so whoever updated the stickers just focused on the new AP object and neglected the rest.

The general public knows nothing about payment schemes, but I don't blame them.
The DSGV likes burn its money with paydirekt instead of educating customers.

What I don’t get about DSGV, DK and their product „paydirekt“ is why the hell didn’t they implement instant transfer for the users - the same way Swish works in Sweden? If they had done that, they would have much more users, imo. They can still do something good out of it, but they have to implement some core features in order to overthrow PayPal:

- Instant p2p payments - this is the biggest issue rn
- simplified registration process (no more having to search through the online banking of your bank to find the feature)
- seller incentivization
- better marketing teams - getting younger population to use it makes it automatically much more attractive to everyone

Let´s get some popcorn ready. "My EC isn´t working.":( "Apple is doomed!"....:p:D

Yes, integrating with kwitt should be a no-brainer.

what I don't get is, why DSGV and DK is often used interchangeably. And why paydirekt is seen as a product of the dsgv. Paydirekt is offered by 1400 banks and a cooperative offer of all noticeable banks on the market.

and because everyone from Deutsche Bank to VoBa Kleinschwarzenhinterwaldseenbach wanted to talk and decied, paydirekt came years too late to compete. And even the hilariously boarding process for retailers (no single point of contact, no transparent costs and fees, everyone has to negotiate on their own with their "Hausbank" about fees, is a product of this. CommerzBank wants other fees than ING-DiBa wants other fees than KSK Ludwigsburg wants other fees than Deutsche Bank.
