Does not matter. Germany still not selectable at Apple Pay Supplies ;)

Waiting for Apple Pay is more fun than guessing numbers for the lottery :D

We are the only country ever that was officially announced and had to wait 4-5 Month after that :(

Their special strategy for the Germans is to bring the customer to the point to "aggressively " demand this service :p:D

Joke aside:
Hope we will see some figures about Apple Pay usage/adoption in Germany in a few month

False! Italy months after they launched the landingpage. A possible indicator? Ok, 2019 then.

Can anyone tell us how the payment works currently at the apple store?

I bought my airpods june 2018 in boston. The employees got an iPhone 5s/SE where i had to type in my email etc.

After this was finished i got asked how i would like to pay.

Me: Apple pay!

Employee turned the iphone and clicked off a NFC Terminal from the back. I tapped my iphone and the purchase was done.

What is the standard in germany? Do they got the „normal“ terminals like verifone, concardis etc?

Here at my local apple store they didn't accept contacless payments, as of recently at least – don't know about right now.
Process is the same, some terminal straped on the back of an iphone 5ish which simply doesnt support NFC.

question please , just to avoid to get to exited...

a tomorrow launch is not widely expected, right?

december, 11 is more realistic ?

a launch tomorrow is certainly possible, but I don't think it's like in Belgium where we had a really 'safe' date. dec 11 is possible too, if it doesn't launch before that day

Timo Hetzel said in the actual podcast, that Apple Pay may start in less days than you got fingers.
In the shownotes, the part is called: "Apple Pay Launch: KW 50, vielleicht"

Found out today that my Sparkasse is offering push pan and just went there to activate it. Up to now I've used their optical tan generator + SMS tan (9 cent per transaction) so I was happy to switch to push tan, because that would be free, right?

Nope! Also 9 cent with push tan. Man, I'm so ready to switch banks. If only I'd know what to choose.

If only ING would also offer AP, it I'd immediately switch...

Comdirect as a "real" bank. Otherwise my recommendation is DKB. They will offer it in the first half of 2019 if you are following them on twitter ;)

This totally depends on your needs.
Comdirect or DKB are also very good choices. (From my personal standpoint, DKB has better conditions like no FX worldwide on Cash or Creditcard for "active" users) - but with Comdirect you can use local Commerzbank branches.
