Comdirect as a "real" bank. Otherwise my recommendation is DKB. They will offer it in the first half of 2019 if you are following them on twitter ;)

Oh yeah, I saw that (DKB). The only thing holding me back about comdirekt is that I read somewhere that the credit card is not an offline credit card, meaning you can't pay at certain merchants..

I had an comdirect account years ago (like 2012 or so), and I remember that I had problems paying in the states. Has anyone had similar experiences?

Apple did not invent nfc payments in Germany yet. So no nfc payments in Germany. Apple has to reinvent payment first.

Timo Hetzel said in the actual podcast, that Apple Pay may start in less days than you got fingers.
In the shownotes, the part is called: "Apple Pay Launch: KW 50, vielleicht"

By now I am quite confident that Santander, which is infamously absent from the announcement page, might be the culprit of this.
On 05.11. the Coming-Soon page went live.
On 06.11. iFun quoted a Santander spokesperson that the bank was still 'in preparations to be able to join alongside' ('or up until two weeks after the go') the first wave of financial institutions. My interpretation is, they obviously have technical problems only Apple has been officially informed of. Everyone else was prepared for (likely) KW48; including ads etc.
KW48 (Linsenbarth's prediction; likely comdirect source) + max. 2 weeks = KW50 (the latest)

My guess is, that Apple, for whatever reason, did not want a second wave within 2018 for just a single bank, so they are holding out everyone.

ASOS now shows Apple Pay when Germany is selected as the country. Didn’t work about a week ago.

But only in safari on Mac. Not in the iOS app

Well since my wife only has an iPhone and no Mac I can say for sure it has always been there. My wife has been asking me like a thousand times about it and if she can pay with Apple Pay.

But either way i just want Apple Pay to finally statt so i can stop thinking about switching to android. :p

I don’t think this is AP related... but N26 is currently down for me.

This is what freaks me out about N26. How can do something like this kn the middle of the day. It’s an online bank and cuts you off the access to your money. If you locked your cards and need to do some shopping or make an important money transfer you can’t. Something like this should be done in the night when everybody sleeps. That’s why I will never ever take N26 seriously.

Or they should give a specific timeframe like other banks do it, because there are many who use N26 for their travel primarily so N26 can’t just shut down their systems in the middle of the night, since it’s not night all around the globe.

Agreed. Even worse: I keep getting push notifications about debits on my account but I can’t open the app :p

Right agree. But that’s just N26 ... they don’t give out any information and there is no way of reaching them in a case of „emergency“.

It seems they want to be „Apple“ of banks, keeping everything secret until there’s enough social media damage and pressure done to give in.

This. Nice playground, shiny app (with a big lack of features) but nothing to take seriously if you do more than getting your salary once a month and paying your supermarket bills.
