I think too we get an update about ECG on tuesday.

Or did apple ever informed the press right before an Apple Pay launch?

Seems credible that Apple informed journalists about an upcoming launch of Apple Pay.

Nun ist sie am anderen Ende einer Telefonleitung und verkündet: «Am Donnerstag starten wir Apple Pay in der Schweiz.»

If the phone call had taken place on the launch day, she would have said that today is the start.

Don't think so. They would have waited with the release of 5.1.2 if ECG would be available in EU next week.
And for an update about the status of the ECG for other countries, they would wait for their next event.

I don’t think we will ever get the ECG feature in Europe. EU is going to overregulate it into the oblivious and say it’s not confirm due to data protection ... imagine if insurances would get hands on that ecg data of some „sick“ people that show signs of heart problems...

Some time ago I’ve read something bout medical and technical stuff and that article was stating that eu and us kinda accepting the decisions the other party makes.

So maybe it’s not going to take that long until we see ECG in Europe. Following that reading it’s just some kind of „Formsache“ when the other party has accepted before.

1) ecg is AFAIK not available in the EU because apple does not have the necessary studies to proof the function.

2) the scenario is a real threat. Do you want a world in which people only get insurances if they share their health data from wearables? In which people have to pay more for services because there „might“ be a problem in the future? In which you have to be measured 24/7 to get health care?

Data protection is a real Problem on the market although some younger „mir geht’s gut“ users will see it in a different way.

But it’s not the problem why ecg is only available in the us atm. Apple just did the studies in the way they needed for the US market. Not for Europe or anything else.

This is getting a little off topic: I don’t know about the other countries, but at least for Germany this would never be a problem, because the Krankenkassen have to insure you, no matter your medical conditions.

This was just an example. Take RisikoLV, BU, etc.

Imagine you only get a BU, if you have and deliver a full health record incl. movement, heart activity, ECG and so on...

Off topic and a no concern imo sine I was told from a friend he got ECG working by just changing the country to US which does not work for AP :( (well, without boon)

I have high hopes for 11.12.2018 <3

I’m in Madrid since 3 days and every morning and evening I’m passing by this ad. Don’t know what it says but it makes me run the shortcut “is Apple Pay available yet” and refresh this thread instantly ;)

Does NOT work with ecg. Apple disabled the ecg feature on all devices which weren’t sold on US territory. Changing your region is not going to activate ecg on your Apple Watch. It was only possible to do this during the watch os beta.

Just use a US Apple ID and it will work.

You're sure, it will?!

Like I said he is wrong. It doesn’t matter which region or Apple ID you are using. There is a region lock ... only Apple Watches bought on US territory are unlocked for the ecg feature. Go ahead try it out yourself or look at the multiple reports on various news sites or check out reddit.

i know, that‘s the reason why i haved asked him. It‘s not the same like enabling Apple Pay or any other features.

As it is seen as medical software/a medical device, it will not matter who you are and where you live. It matters where you bought the medical device.

Real life: it does not matter if you are US citizen, you won’t get a 500 pills jar of aspirin at the groceries in Germany.
But you would get it as a German in the US.

For the monitoring: seems the most stuff which could be ignored is sorted out by the script now (a few http header stuff not being related to Apple Pay in general)

https://bitbucket.org/Alanin/apple-pay/commits/all
[doublepost=1544348552][/doublepost]As you can see in the history of the header file there were some occurrences made by Akamais CDN and this is filtered out now
