Anyone found a way to sort the cards on the Apple Watch like in the wallet for the iPhone?

No, no more banks this year. Also: What isn't listed as "coming soon" won't be. I'm honestly "shocked" (maybe a strong word, but hey) that Commerzbank isn't even listed under 2019... what are they doing? o_O

But both were set launch partner bei Linsenbarth o_O

I just ordered the DB card Virtual in the app. It takes up two working days to be available. :O

How did you order the virtual card? For me only my DB MC Gold and a Plus Card show up. No option to order a virtual card for my giro card...

So much for "an den Sparkassen führt kein Weg vorbei" and ING's original "we'll wait and see how the market reacts to Apple Pay". :p
We know you have some private aversions against some selected banks.

But don’t rip quotes out of the context. ;)

And it is really interesting how much the impact of Apple Pay on the market really is. The impact of GooglePay is not measurable and banks don’t want to give concrete numbers. Even comdirect/CB talking around without sustainable facts.

So let’s see what Apple Pay reaches.

Amex sends texts? They just send me a confirmation email that I set up the card successfully.

Yep. Amex setup process asked if I wanted the verification via SMS or email, I picked SMS. I too did get the "success and welcome" email afterwards. 3 times. For 2 cards. (2 cards x iPhone/Watch/Mac)

Also surprised Commerzbank isn't on there...

Not surprised. While comdirect and Commerzbank may share some backend services, their strategy couldn't be more different.

Yes, it's a bit... workaroundy. Whenever you select a card in the Wallet app as "primary", this card will be moved to the front. Do this in the order you want them to appear on the Watch.

Example: You want cards in order A B C D, but they are currently C D A B, you then do the following:
- select D as primary
- select C as primary
- select B as primary
- select A as primary

They should really make the list sortable :D

Side question: I see you have an Amex Platinum. Are you happy with it? I cancelled the Platinum card when they raised the yearly fee and added "Selbstbeteiligung"/deductibles to every insurance included.

The "Plus Card" is the physical better version of the Virtual Card. It has all the same terms and conditions, but you can also use it as a real card. DB FAQ says that if you already have a Plus Card, use that. If you don't need a physical card, you need to cancel the Plus Card before ordering a Virtual Card. You can consider it the basic version.

These are no numbers, but it is interesting nonetheless:
https://trends.google.de/trends/explore?geo=DE&q=Apple Pay,Google Pay

Shows search trends for "Apple Pay" and "Google Pay" in DE. Germany may have a 1:5 ratio in mobile operating system activations for Apple vs Google but Apple customers are clearly more "spendy".

Hey, I LOVE the concept of your German banking system. It's one of the reasons why you weren't as much in the s**t as we were in the UK. But the Sparkasse and Volksbank are just acting against the market tendencies and trying to force their idea of what mobile payment is onto people.

As Tim Cook once said at the Apple Pay launch: "Mobile wallets have come and gone, as the banks were focused around their own business model and self-interest, instead of focusing on the user experience."

And that sentence is EXACTLY the context: Sparkasse were suggesting Apple wouldn't be able to launch / get Apple Pay into the German market without them. They've proven: They were able to manoeuvre around them and get nearly all relevant banks in Germany on board (granted, VoBa and Commerzbank are still holdouts - so far).

The old banks need to learn the hard way that to stay relevant they need to act, not react (another prime example here: Barclays).

Anyone able to add apple pay to their Macs yet? The option for Wallet is not showing up on my iMac (2017). Even after reboot still nothing there...

Apple Pay only works directly on Macs with Touch ID. That's no problem though, you can use Apple Pay on your Mac, the payments will simply show up on your iPhone/Apple Watch and you can confirm there.

You get the Apple Pay System preferences panel if you have a Mac with Touch ID.

Make sure to "Allow Payments on Mac" in the Wallet App on your iPhone (and Apple Watch)

This option is missing for me, or am I blind? I already restarted my iPhone and Apple Watch. :/

To be honest, I just have the Platinum because there was an offer from Handelsblatt, where I got 500€ cashback. I will see what I can negotiate next year, otherwise I will downgrade to the Gold again, which I had for free.

How did you added the payback card to the wallet app?

I used Pass2U. :)

Ok, that’s what I thought as well. I only got the Plus Card to be ready for Apple Pay. Wanted to have a debit card besides the DB credit card. Guess I keep the card anyway.

This works for me. In the Apple Watch app on your iPhone under Wallet, you can select a primary card in the way imore describes.

TRANSACTION DEFAULTS
Default Card >

Follow my steps above to rearrange the order with that.

I was definitely blind. Found the option, thanks a lot! :)

The conditions are kind of great compared to the regular Mastercard or the Mastercard Gold DB offers. Especially since your non-Euro transactions are much cheaper. DB still has an archaic minimum 1,50 EUR transaction fee on non-EUR transactions, but not on the Plus Card or Virtual Card for that matter. So if you travel a lot and don't want to afford the Mastercard Travel, it is a good offer.
[doublepost=1544513277][/doublepost]So. Now I will go to my local bakery and buy some things with Apple Pay :D
(They actually have a sticker saying they prefer cashless, which makes me love them even more)

Because of the €1,50 minimum fee per transaction I switched to Gebührenfrei MC Gold many years ago. Only drawback is that you manually have to transfer money to pay your card bill. Guess they will never offer Apple Pay

The DB Virtual Card and DB Card Plus don't have that 1,50 EUR minimum fee. Last time I checked the Card Plus was 18 EUR a year I think. Virtual Card is free.
