I already changed my bank 2 months ago to comdirect. I only want a Debit credit card. What about bunq?

I dont know if I am shuffling something around, but isnt a credit card with a limit of 0€ the same like a debit card?
Just change the credit limit

And when you see a store still saying that a minimum amount is required...:
Do you have any sources confirming that minimum amounts are illegal? AFAIK, merchants aren’t allowed to add any additional fees for card payment anymore, but they are not generally required to accept cards.

By the view of a customer it could be. But there are "problems" if you want to do an offline purchase (see some post ago), rent a car or check in at a hotel. Not every Debit Card is accepted. Thats why Revolut, N26 or Boon are not made for a single primary account

afaik bunq is not free. correct me if im false
Boon is about 1,50€ a month?!

N26 is free with a physical CC aswell + ability to get cash worldwide/ no currency fee abroad. but you have to know that is required an online POS. In the air/by train there is no chance to do a purchase. And there are sometimes wired maintenance by shutting down the service by mid of the day. But in 99% of the times its working great. But it not my priority account.

But if you are already a Comdirect customer. Everything should be fine?! (What I don't like is the withdrawal at Comdirect)

Where can I find this information regarding offline purchases with N26 (AP)?

I have paid with my N26 MC at the DB ICE Train Board Restaurant before, which is, AFAIK, offline. I have also used it onboard of a Lufthansa flight, which is offline too, since the purchase came through a couple of days later.
So where did you get that information from?

I haven't had any problems with my N26 at hotels or other places with security deposits. The difference is that the amount gets taken out of your account and is put back afterwards. On a real credit card, the amount is just blocked and that block is removed afterwards. To me as a customer, there's no difference.

Tested it several Times in April at my USA Trip. Singpore Airlies, Jet Blue denied the MC Debit. Hotels at the Check-In aswell. Got the DKB Visa as a Backup and it worked without any problem. Back at the ground I used the N26 card and it worked. Due to the push notifications this was the killer feature if you pay in foreign currencies.
I prefer the MC Debit at N26 but I would not go out without a "real" CC as a backup

Seriously, just get Amex. Free for the first year and by the time you have to pay for it, your home back will probably support Apple Pay.

Is there a free Amex?

Ist es bei Amex so, dass ich mein Girokonto mit der Karte verbinde? Haben die auch Debit?

I think that only applies if you reach 10.000€ each year. Only then. 5-6 times that if you have the platinum card.

The green card is free 4k/year.

Payback Amex stays free all the time

@yeahtyeaht

its a "Lastschrift" every month your amex will be balanced with your girokonto. No Debit, its called charging card

It’s 4K/year with the standard card.

I put it as my standard payment option at Amazon, Apple and other shops and stores. Why not collecting the points?

4K are reached fast.

Now its showing the right digits, it automatically updatet after i added my n26 card to my iPad wallet!
any idea how I can trigger that update manually? My N26 card in the wallet shows the IBAN instead of the MC number, too.
