Can somebody give me a clear statement about the 25€ Grenze with pin at terminals? I thought we don’t need this with applepay.

Somebody wrote it depends on the terminal. But Apple writes that you have to use the pin every single time when the payment is above the 25€

There is no limit if the payment terminal is up to date and thus supports CDCVM (customer device cardholder verification method). With this, you can pay any amount and additionally don't have to enter any PIN because the terminal knows that the owner has been verified by the device (Face ID, Touch ID, Wrist detection, ...).

If the terminal is not up to date, usually all it should do is ask for a PIN above 25 or 50 EUR. The PIN for Apple Pay, according to Apple, is any 4-digit number. 0000 should work.

Do you understand what "möglicherweise" means?

You authenticate the payment via CDCVM. If the terminal is not configured correctly it may prompt for a PIN, in which case you just enter 0000.

Yes I understand this and I wanted to know the details from the experts here.

So I don’t need the pin of my original N26 card? Only 0000?

I already paid amounts above 200€ with Apple Pay without entering a PIN.

And where does apple state that?

So guys, while I wait for DKB, what’s the most convenient way for me to use Apple Pay in the meantime?

Boon. seems to be the best thing right now. I could use that for the first three months and by then DKB should be ready, right?
Anyone? :(

I know ;)

I never had to type in a PIN if paying with AP the lasts months. Two times I had to sign at the terminal ... at IKEA

Yes, this was a wrong config for a long time.

Payed with N26 and AP last Thursday and they fixed it ;) No need for signature or PIN at Ikea Kassel anymore

Thats how i did it prior to launch and still do it now, as Amex is not accepted everywhere and DKB, Santander, Revolut, LBB and Advanzia did not launch yet. But keep in mind that the launch of DKB is expected in April 2019

That’s the way to go :)

But it will probably take longer than three months.

Regarding entering a PIN: I've never needed to do that - in my three years of using Apple Pay!

Also Revolut has announced that Apple Pay is incoming...

Love this comment of theirs: "We promise, the wait is almost over this time"

It could be that the missing German Apple Pay support was a blocker for them, since they issued UK bin ranges for all cards.

Alright, thanks :) boon seems to be the simplest solution since it doesn't involve a new bank account. Can I set it up to simply charge my DKB Visa everytime I pay via boon/Apple Pay?

Yes, auto tip up with your DKB Visa, but you will always need to keep money on Boon
