Anyone here with a Comdirect account who has a better deal for new customers than the one on their webpage with 100€ bonus?
Thanks in advance!

I was wondering why they added the FCB Munich logo at the Landing Page (today?!). Now I know why :D

Here is the official press release: https://www.apple.com/de/newsroom/2018/12/apple-pay-launches-in-germany/

Is no one else surprised, that they were able to keep all this a secret for so long? They upgraded the entire stadium with new terminals, involved top Bayern Munich execs, HypoVereinsbank made an ad with footballer like Thomas Müller; all the preparation, all the brands involved in showing off the app integration (like BVG and Flixbus) and not one little leak anywhere (apart from Ehssan, who must have known someone involved in todays presentation).

That's why Apple is good at these sort of things.

Is there a free Amex?

Ist es bei Amex so, dass ich mein Girokonto mit der Karte verbinde? Haben die auch Debit?

Payback AMEX is the free card.
And no, AMEX is no DEBIT Card, it's a Credit Card. You have to wait for ING, which will participate in 2019. The VISA from ING is a Credit labeled Card but the amount shows up instantly, you receive the Push Notification instantly and it will be taken from your Girokonto in 2-3 Days.

I wanted to switch to comdirect or DKB, but with the announcement ING is joining in 2019 i will stay there. I have a Payback AMEX Card, wich i can use for Apple Pay now (used boon earlier) and in future my ING Girokonto will also be able to used with Apple Pay. No reasons for change so far for me.

But if you need it ASAP. Deutsche Bank allows you to get a free virtual MasterCard which is linked to your Girokonto there and will be placed into the Wallet instead of your Girocard. And this one is a Debit Card.

The Reason would be that Ticketing thing. As i understood it right, you should be able to enter the stadium with your iPhone and your "virtual Match Ticket".

Apparently Deutsche Bank experienced triple digit activations per minute today. Wonder what the holdouts are thinking, I recall some DK or DSGV presentation during which it was mentioned how N26 is gaining more new customers per day as all SPK branches combined.

These figures are interesting if you know the time frame and for how long the hype stays. What is tomorrow or in four weeks?

The first rush is not very representative ;)

For all those Girocard lovers out there :p

"Die @DeutscheBankAG hat sich bei #applepay explizit für @MastercardDE #debit statt @girocard entschieden wegen der deutlich besseren Akzeptanz Online und Offline"

Sooner or later it will disappear. :)
„Bleyds Gwaaf“ from DB as you call it here. They let others do the work, as always, and then they will offer it too. Then they state „because of high demand of customers and retailers.“

Any bet ;)

Indeed very interesting! Quoting from here:

"NFC-Ticketing:

So guys, while I wait for DKB, what’s the most convenient way for me to use Apple Pay in the meantime?

Boon. seems to be the best thing right now. I could use that for the first three months and by then DKB should be ready, right?

I regret going for a platinum MasterCard at my Sparkasse. Would‘ve gone for an Amex Platinum but back then they didn‘t even support Kaufland. Might make the switch to Amex sooner rather than later now... although the foreign payment fees are harsh on the Amex.

Can somebody give me a clear statement about the 25€ Grenze with pin at terminals? I thought we don’t need this with applepay.

Somebody wrote it depends on the terminal. But Apple writes that you have to use the pin every single time when the payment is above the 25€

I have a SumUp Terminal... Maybe I can charge myself an amount over 25€ and then see if it asks for a pin/signature

Nope.
There two different types of Terminal configurations:

With CDCVM and without CDCVM (CDCVM means customer device cardholder verification method):

- a Terminal with CDCVM support turned on let’s your phone do the authentication and pin entry is not necessary since that would be double authentication

- a Terminal without CDCVM will see your phone as a contactless card and will require you to authenticate the payment with a pin since it’s not capable of knowing if you can authenticate the payment on your phone or not.

This is only a software difference and not a hardware one. There are some examples of stores explicitly not wanting to enable CDCVM for their terminals (Tesco in the UK) just so they can push their own payment app which doesn’t have this limitation.

Thank you. So basically we have to wait until all terminals are going to be updated.
