I hope that ing diba and other „suspects“ are with Apple Pay from start on. Don’t wanna open a new account just for Apple Pay...

I think it has to do with android phones being rather cheap and not all having nfc. And the next thing is, that being Apple more expensive lot of ppl are deciding for Apple specially and not „just getting a phone“ and so ppl are more active with their phones and the new features/possibilities

It’s the same in the AppStores, on iOS they make more money.

I found a second hint from another (for me unknown person) in another forum, that says that Apple Pay will start this September. But I don't know, if I should post it here. Anyone could have written this text.
I dont want to spread fake news.

Would not be the first dead hint. I think we are poser/fake proof already ;)

Okay, if you think so, here you have it. Do with this information what you want. This is very, very dubious, and I personally wouldn't trust him.
Found this at iPhone-ticker.de

He is the first who speaks of shops who will support AP and public transport.
Quite much information

Tbh the talk about supporting shops is about nonsense. There are a lot of terminals doing nfc and are working with Apple Pay and google pay and the shops are not mentioned... like Aldi Nord, Rewe, Edeka, Toom, Lidl, Netto...

The „Supporting Shops“ are some kind of partners. PR for the shops by Apple, advertising for Apple Pay by the retailers. Eine Hand wäscht die andere.

See Apple Pay webpages or the Google Pay webpage.

But not for the companies. I would be suprised if there are no promoted and advertised partners at a possible launch in Germany.

Interesting: the guy chose wisely. A lot of the ticket machines in munich (MVV) are already nfc capable. Not many public transportation companies would be able to support NFC payments and therefore Apple Pay or Google Pay

While reading this guys part about the ÖPNV I was more thinking about a cooperation with integrating Apple Pay into the MVV App for ticket payment. Because when you have Apple Pay, then you have an iPhone and then you don´t need the ticket machines :) But of course both buying processes could be involved in the cooperation

It could be both. Those ticket machines are slowly updated with NFC readers across Germany.
Supporting Apple Pay within the ÖPNV app to pay would be just a "minor" thing, once AP has officially started in Germany. Just another way to pay - most support credit cards already and some have paypal for example (Berlin). But they (ÖPNV providers) lose a few cents (transaction fees) with each ticket purchase - not quite sure how much they like that..
