Little bit off-topic: On Monday tried to pay at MediaMarkt with Apple Pay, it worked every time in the past, but this time it crashed the checkout counter. :cool: They had to reboot it.
Boon canceled the transaction afterwards, but I kept my 5€ bonus.

Some more name dropping and - as stated before - Volksbank and Sparkasse won't be part of an Apple Pay launch. Apart from that the normal suspects: Commerzbank/Comdirect, BW Bank (interesting...) and at a later date ING DiBa (due to technical reasons). That would already be a great launch and a lot better than what Apple started off with in other countries (prime example: Switzerland).
The articles is nothing worth, because they just repeat what they say since weeks and months.

At the time, they released this article, Handelsblatt already had the confirmation of Deutsche Bank, who are not mentioned at all and Ing-Diba, who are candidates according to this author, already declined the launche of ApplePay or Google Pay.

The fact that Deutsche Bank will support it is in my opinion a very good sign. They don't support Google Pay because they have their own service on Android. Probably there will be more banks which said no to Google but are willing to do business with Apple.

I'll keep the first post of this thread updated with all banks that have confirmed a launch from the beginning...

Didn't think the flood gates would open so quickly. This hasn't happened in any of the recent launches! I'm very, very surprised. Seems like the banks can't get the information out quick enough.

Well that launch seems to be really huge. I think when there are a lot of players on the market the ones not starting from beginning will do a lot to be with the first ones, even they have denied it yet... still some time left...

@sir-hd

Thank you for updating the main post, an hour ago or so you had all the banks in there, now its just a link to iphone-ticker.de.

If it's not an issue, could you restore the list you previously had?

Didn't think anyone would be interested...

List re-updated. Will keep my eyes posted. Have an alarm set for Twitter as well. I have also got back into contact with someone I know at Sparkasse. If I do hear anything (I doubt it), I'll let you know. But I remain committed to my original piece of information: They're doing an "Australian Bank" move. "Give us access to the NFC chip or get stuffed!" I think I summarised the Sparkasse's position right there.

[doublepost=1533126342][/doublepost]I have the feeling that a few big players have been asked by Apple. Some agreed, some didn’t.

Now the ones who didn’t are kinda surprised by the (****)storms they are facing...

Lot of tweets saying that ppl are going to switch banks... I am thinking bout switching too. I am really disappointed that ing diba is not with Apple Pay...

DOUBLE POST: See @Alanin above!

"Ein Sprecher der Sparkassen verwies auf Anfrage auch auf die eigene App und deutete an, Apple solle lieber die NFC-Schnittstellen der iPhones für alle Interessenten öffnen: „Es liegt an Apple, die entsprechende NFC-Schnittstelle für die Kreditwirtschaft freizugeben, damit alle Kunden diesen technischen Marktstandard in gleicher Weise nutzen können“, hieß es in der E-Mail des Sparkassen-Sprechers an t3n.de."
